This has been going on for decades in IT. I was told in 1999 to train an Indian replacement who was in Bangalore, and who had zero experience in what I was supporting then and very low knowledge.
My office HERE in the US is basically completely Indian now, too. I'm the only non Indian on most calls I'm on. They are good folks, and most are more competent now than that 25 years ago. But it's still very disconcerting and at times upsetting to walk in that door and feel like I moved to another country. Musk and others have used H1B as an exploitative loophole for their benefit to bring in lower paid workers who owe their existence to the company b/c it controls their visa.

Gotta be a way to some kind of tariff to make these companies pay for outsourcing.

I’m all for it but I’m beginning to think they should not be allowed to sell products in USA for the prices cheaper than anything manufactured in the U.S. by U.S. bc of the strict guidelines U.S. manufacturing and job market is.
That’s not very capitalist but neither is setting minimum wage so high and forcing inflation up even more it just doesn’t work like that.

We also have to deal with investment companies like Elliot investment
Interested to see how this BP Elliot thing plays out. Elliot’s CEO Paul singer is buddies with trump, and trump has a hard on for the UK right now. I think we’re gonna hear some friction with BPs assets in GoA and west Texas.

We are finishing up a project for Linde where they farmed out their engineering for a Texas project to India. It was awful. They don’t understand how things need to work and their engineering specifications are off. Last time we’ll be doing that.

I am in the industry….the Indians are good if you provide tremendous oversight and guard rails.
They have no vision AT ALL…good at data science but and pure calculations when you tell them exactly what to do

You get what you pay for with Indian engineers, many of those degrees aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Elliot investment
* Paul Singer
* Jewish
* US Treasury paid Elliott Management $12.9 billion in cash and subsidies from the US Treasury's auto bailout fund
* French Financial Markets Regulator fined Elliott a record $22 million for insider trading
* Weeks before many Americans had heard of COVID-19, Singer wrote a memo to his employees about preparing for the possibility of being quarantined for at least a month
* Elliott Management took a stake in Twitter, Singer pushed to oust Jack Dorsey and control four seats on the board
* Major funder of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies
* Contributed more than $1 million to the political efforts of the Koch brothers
* Supported and donated a million dollars to the Our Principles PAC, a Stop Trump movement PAC attempting to derail Donald Trump's election
* Actively seeks to persuade Republicans to support gay marriage, and has joined Wall Street executives in support of LGBT equality
* The Washington Free Beacon, largely funded by Singer, hired Fusion GPS to unearth damaging information on Republican candidates. This research was later used by the Hillary Clinton campaign and became the infamous and now debunked Steele Dossier
