He's going to have two big issues if he is still running things in 2024 and DeSantis wins the primary.
1. If Trump runs as an independent in the general election Republicans will not win one state in the election. And if McConnell is still running things that is exactly what Trump will do just to spite him. He would have McConnell by the short and curlies and I think the only condition he would agree to dropping out for would be the resignation of the entire Republican leadership.
2. If McConnell endorses DeSantis he is going to shite Twinkies when it makes DeSantis' popularity shrink with Republican voters. If I was DeSantis and McConnell endorsed me I would tweet Thank You with that picture of Johnny Cash flipping off the photographer underneath.

But Mitch does support DeSantis.

My response to a fundraising email from Rick Scott w/ NRSC:
Considering all the money you have that you didn't send to Bolduc, Masters, Laxalt and Oz I am sure you have plenty left even after all the money sent in support of the LOSER of the GOP Senate primary in Alaska.
You and Mitch got what you wanted. Continued minority status so you can bitch and fundraise, but don't have to actually govern. Revel in it.
And kiss my arse!

WTF are you talking about especially with Walker and Laxalt? Fricking Rick Scott was raising money for Paul Laxalt big time, same for Walker. He pulled out of AZ but not before making sure that Heritage and Thiel had committed to making up most of the difference. Masters had some unusually high negatives in mid summer polling that was unusually high for a first time candidate.
But to suggest that McConnell and Rick Scott did not want to win and support Laxalt and Walker and even Oz is ridiculous. Why would Mitch want to lose a seat that he had in PA? Why would he not support a guy who has won statewide elections in Nevada in Laxalt why would frick over his old friend's grandson? On Walker he sure as shite does not want to lose Georgia.....no Republican wants that long term....or even short term.
Yeah, he pulled money from Bolduc because up until 2-3 weeks ago he was a dead man walking in NH.

He is Biden with an (R). Filthy rich off our backs while accomplishing basically nothing.

Mitch doesn't care in that scenario. He just wants Trump gone. He would gladly lose every state for that to happen.

I can’t speak for the other states but here in Ga Republican Voters screwed that up by passing on a qualified candidate with no baggage that would have easily defeated warnock(Gary Black) for Walker simply because he was a “damn good dawg”.

Cut the shite. McConnell could give two shits about Trump. He's the most pragmatic politician in DC. In his mind , he's still in DC and Trump is running around hiding from potential subpoenas.
Plus Rick Scott was heading that up. They have pushed a lot of money into Nevada and Georgia...so have the Democrats.
You guys shite on McConnell when all that fricking turtle did was deliver legislative wins for Trump. 3 Scotus appointments. For a fricker who wanted Trump gone he sure as shite was pretty good to him even after he had no reason to be good to him with the 2nd impeachment.....because he could have told Republican Senators....." vot your conscience." and Trump would have been convicted.....that's how pissed many were with Trump over the bullshite that happened Jan. 6.

Yes, that sounds a lot like something Trump would do.
