Agreed.
Even the black NYC mayor came out and essentially said he supported Penny. There is police bodycam footage of black passengers praising Penny right after the incident.
If anything, this is a modern day equivalent of Bernie Goetz. He had a lot of support from black people even though he shot 4 black kids. Everyone rides the subway in NYC. Black and white. Black people don't want to feel unsafe on the subway.
The media will try to make it a controversial issue for a day or two, but it will be forgotten before Christmas week.
