I don't see any way to look at those quotes, unless they're incredibly parsed or outright wrong, and go "oh ok yeah he was talking about the left and the NYT made it seem otherwise."

So the fact that they're going with this bullshite recovery attempt makes me EVEN LESS likely to support them. Coming out and shitting on the proud boys, a group I don't hate but also don't care about, isn't a deal killer for me. But doing that and then lying about it and expecting me to be so stupid to think you're talking about the left - frick right off
