Yeah, and I have unwritten rules for going into black neighborhoods.
1. Lock the doors
2. Don't make eye contact
3. If someone says something to you, act like you didn't hear them and keep moving.
4. Don't accept anything they offer even if they act like they want to help you.

I wear reflective gear and avoid staring too closely at any of the houses. I often think of Ahmaud Arbery while I’m walking."
Makes perfect sense. Buy a home in an area where you believe you will be gunned down any second.
Absolutely 100% believable.
I mean. Who hasn’t thought about making a very large purchase of a home where they have to constantly believe they will be murdered in the street. After allll the options.. that was the house. The other homes needed a little paint, maybe some landscaping, but that house was sooooooo perfect, they accepted living in a neighborhood where they are scared to walk outside.
Yep. 1000% believable.

Now I can guarantee you that as a white man, if I were to walk in certain sections of some cities or towns after dark, I’m likely to get robbed and or killed.
Exactly.
What is the first piece of advice you give potential tourist coming to NOLA? Usually the first thing you say is stay on the main corridors and don't veer off into side streets because they are not safe.

Interesting they avoid sundown towns. Well I avoid towns like the lower 9th ward, the projects and inner city ghettos to avoid getting killed. Samesies!

Yes I have family from Olla. It’s not like that. You thought you were just going to say some random lesser known town and nobody would know to call you on it?

That rule never seems to be followed.

quote:while this is complete and total bullshite I do know of a black man who was scared shitless when we were driving through and area in central arkansas that is almost totally white and is known as a place that wasn’t always friendly to blacks and in 2017 he kept asking me how much gas I had because He was terrified of something happening to the car and us being broke down in this area. I laughed and told him he was crazy for thinking people around there would do anything to him in this day and age but he still had this ignorant notion. I later dated a girl from the area and she was one of the most liberal people I’ve ever met, in fact the fact that the area is so white she never really had any dealing with black people made her not understand how thuggish some can really be. She assumed all black people act just like white people and the reason ghettos and gangs exist is because they were just mistreated by the government. I shite you not
5."I'm from Louisiana where they still have 'sundown towns.' Avoid them at all costs, but if you have to pass through at night, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A FULL TANK OF GAS so that you don't have to stop." —bigscooby04 "When road tripping, every Black person knows not to stop in a rural area for gas or a pee break if you can help it, especially at night. I know someone whose child actually peed their pants because the area they were driving through was a sundown town, and they weren't going to risk it."

So they move to a “mostly white” neighborhood and then bitch about white people? I’m not going to move to North Lake Charles and express my fear of black people. Weird arse perspective is weird.

…and is absolutely clueless how infuriating that is to people driving down the street.

You can almost smell the funk from under the fat rolls of the green haired white liberal creature that wrote those quotes.

That is 100% true.
That you were rightfully embarrassed about your stupid words? Awesome. Maybe next time you can figure it out before you hit post, and just leave the talking to others.

that just trolling

I know for a fact that Pollock was one of those towns.
Even had a sign at the city limits.

quote:True. If I had to walk through a bad part of New Orleans, I’d pick early morning when all the thugs have finally gone to sleep.
In New Orleans it doesn't even have to be at night!

I’m sure a lot of towns were 60 years ago, some maybe even 35 years ago. Outdated stereotypes are outdated.

Aren’t there places in Chicago, Detroit, Philly, etc. that white folks can’t safely travel? Let’s not talk about that, instead just hate on the white neighborhoods.
Posted on 4/28/22 at 12:02 pm to djmed
This has to be made up . Why would a black person spend twice as much on a house to be in a white neighborhood if they were scared of white people ?
