There is an explosion of mental illness, trendy anxiety, whatever you want to call it. When I hear stories from my younger sisters describing their friends and coworkers I am astonished at what barely functioning wrecks they are. They all smoke weed, usually lots of it. They can’t get through the day without it. They decide not to travel because they worry about not having weed. They need animals for emotional support. Animals have been substituted for real personal relationships with friends and family. They sleep under weighted blankets for emotional security. They struggle in social situations in which they can’t completely control. They have broken relationships with family. A lot of them don’t know what gender they are, don’t know what their sexuality is, etc. They are often angry. They are extremely judgmental. They are on antidepressants, lots of them. They don’t cook. They pay people to bring them warmed over food all the time. They don’t go out to dinner with friends or family. They don’t go to church. Most don’t believe in God or a higher power; it’s all about them, their issues, and the planet. Most are in therapy. Most have never had an intimate relationship of a substantial length of time.

This is very sad, but I fear this correctly describes many people in the current younger generations

In my case? Overinflated reliance on my own intelligence and an idea that I was smart enough to figure out everything on my own, live exactly how I wanted to live, have no regard for others unless it suited my interests, and as long as I worked hard enough and was not a burden on society I was bulletproof from scrutiny.

That type of mindset creates massive inertial forces against you, and a lot of us are stubborn enough to fight them to the death. Anxiety and depression are very real things don’t get me wrong, and they are terrible. However I believe them to be symptoms of other issues we have too much pride to address because we are a society of narcissists.
That’s a pretty remarkable observation.

It’s kind of a contradiction - to reach the level of self-awareness to make such a breakthrough, you had to admit you weren’t as self-reliant as you thought you were. Not an easy task, I imagine.

Congrats to you

I've never heard it put in those exact terms. That's perfect.

We pride ourselves on it. It’s the very opposite of what the Bible teaches about humbling ourselves.
Pride was once considered sin, but now it’s considered a virtue.

And it seems like this outbreak is mostly in ages 30s and below.

I just recently exited this age group (30s) and I have to admit, 90% of them are giant pussies. The amount of fabricated mental health issues they seem to label themselves with is astonishing. It’s almost as if they fear of not being accepted by their friends if they don’t have some type of issue. The only hope I see for the future is the 15 and younger population. They are currently mentally stronger than the 20-30s.

True “self reliance” used to take much more effort than it does today. We’ve created a world where you don’t necessarily have to do much at all to be so. I’m not suggesting that’s, in and of itself, a “bad” thing. It’s just that it leaves a lot of people searching for all sorts of other things to fill the void and inevitably some, if not a lot, will not be healthy or truly fulfilling.

The attitude of simply going along to get along is pervasive in our society. Even mentally stable people avoid controversial issues for fear of being ostracized, even though the issues are plainly ones that are logically or morally wrong.

Conservatives have the ability to agree with people who have differing opinions, when the opinion being shared offers truth.
Liberals reject all ideas that come from personalities whom they deem enemies.

Gen Z and Millenials think their generations are the most oppressed mistreated generations in American history. They believe no other generation has had it tougher than them but in reality theyre the most pampered entitled lazy wealthy generation that's ever existed in this country. I'm a millennial. I find it incredible hearing my peers talk about the so called hardships of 2008 and so on.

Something catastrophic has to happen to harden the younger generations of this country and wake them up. It's terrifying to say out loud but this shite is getting out of hand. Real leaders and free thought have to triumph over this emotional state of existence and the spell this country is under.

He was always reasonable. It's just that the left's views have been on a marathon sprint and keep losing people who are consistent about what they think and believe. I've always said it, today's liberal is tomorrow's conservative. And that's not because they become "conservative." It's because the left is simply a virus that is trying to destroy this country.

Bill knows a lot but for all of his knowledge and insight, he still fails to recognize that he helped usher their side's agenda.

What we DON'T know is how bad the GOP would fk stuff up if they had had narrative control, press, hollywood, silicon valley etc.

If growing older has taught me anything it's that I don't support a group of politicians because they have a banner they stand under or claim. Only their actions matter. The phrase RINO is applied to far too few.
