He didn't have to unfortunately

Who is going to vote for that piece of trash? I am a hardcore conservative and I would vote for the retarded love of child of JBL and Kathleen Blanco before I vote for Skeletor.

He is trying to deflate the Republican turnout. I pray he loses big time in the primary!!

By then, U.S. Sen. John Kennedy, who like Cassidy is a Republican, is likely to have been re-elected to a second term and will have to decide whether he wants to make the race.
Everytime there is an article about this guy there always this reminder. Because you wouldn't know it otherwise.

frick that creepy swamp rat.

I wish that frick would run. I would ACTIVELY campaign against him. As a conservative Independent he is the only person who could get me to get up every morning and knocking on doors to ensure he gets defeated. Please tell me he has to let his seat go to run. That would be even more awesome than watching him get crushed..

Is he required to vacate his senate seat to run for govenor?
No.

“They’ve seen what I’ve done on the bipartisan infrastructure bill, see what I did on COVID relief in December” 2020, Cassidy told Politico on Tuesday. “They obviously see I’m trying to do good things for the state. And they like it.”
Seen what you've done to President Trump

Given the size of some of these guys’ egos, I guess he COULD be delusional enough to think he could win a gubernatorial race here.
However, what worries me more, last time I heard, we were still using the Dominion voting system. Cassidy may be indicating to TPTB what his price is for having sold out Donald Trump.

Louisiana doesn't have closed primary elections. Everyone is on the same initial ballot. If any person gets 50.1%, they win. If nobody does, the top two go to a runoff.

You guys are looking at this wrong. This is a golden opportunity to smear him, boo him, paint him as a man that is a loner who does not work with Republicans, wounding his reputation and preventing him from running a successful senate campaign for reelection. If he does this, there damn well better be a better Republican candidate willing to step up and call out Cassidy for the cuck he is and every conservative in the state needs to rally around that other candidate to deny Cassidy a primary win so badly that he realizes his chances in the Senate race are hopeless.

I hope he does. Democrats in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, no matter how much he campaigns, won’t vote for him and republicans won’t in large numbers. He’d lose.

Not a fan of him but it would get him out of the Senate. The question is do we want a RINO in DC or Baton Rouge.

With a split senate, I’d rather him in Baton Rouge because whatever damage he would do to Louisiana can easily be repaired by (hopefully) electing an actual conservative next time. He’d do more difficult-to-repair damage at the federal level.

Allow me to be the first person to regretfully congratulate Mitch Landrieu on winning the governor's race. The Dems here will always be able to count on the neutered GOP to step on their own dicks.
Posted on 3/31/22 at 9:35 am to Revelator
Bill Cassidy is one seriously deluded motherfricker.
Posted on 3/31/22 at 9:36 am to Revelator
Well he should have support from the Dems.
Posted on 3/31/22 at 9:36 am to Revelator
No way in hell he gets my vote.
