FEMA says this is not a traditional disaster such as a hurricane or tornado or flood so no assistance for you. How fricked up is that? So FEMA is telling us that you can build houses in hurricane, tornado and flood zones and everyone in this country who pays taxes will help you rebuild year after year if so needed but a community that has a once in a lifetime derailment is just shite out of luck. Biden could correct that if he wanted but no, a community that is 75% republican will have to fend for themselves for the immediate future considering it will take some time for all the lawsuits against the railroad to play out.

quote:

The Biden administration turned down a request for federal disaster assistance from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine in the aftermath of the train derailment in the state earlier this month that led to a large release of toxic chemicals.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) told Ohio's state government that it was not eligible for disaster assistance to help the community recover from the toxic spill, Dan Tierney, a spokesperson for DeWine, told Fox News Digital on Thursday. Tierney explained that FEMA believed the incident didn't qualify as a traditional disaster, such as a tornado or hurricane, for which it usually provides assistance.

FEMA

FEMA's zeal in denying claims is second to none. One would think that the money is coming directly out of the FEMA employee's personal checking accounts.

From FEMA's website, "The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is the federal agency responsible for leading the Nation's efforts to prepare for, protect and mitigate against, respond to, and recover from the impacts of natural disasters and man-made incidents or terrorist events."

Mahoning County was diehard democrat forever. Trump won the county. But some rural towns are more republican.

You can about bet that if it were the Youngstown hood he would send FEMA for displacement reasons if nothing else.

Did Brandon the jackass even mention East Palestine in his reading of the teleprompter?

This is unacceptable. I know it isn't a naturally occurring disaster, but it's still a major disaster, if not a catastrophe. The human and environmental impact of the chemical contamination will be widespread and last for years.

Unacceptable, sure - but you can't be surprised by this.
