Young folks aged 20-25 have the worst job market since the Great Depression. It's said that 75 % of them will never be able to afford a house. This group had their senior high years destroyed by the covid shutdown. Now they have no entry level jobs do to the illegals that at 10 million are competing for 20 % of all jobs nation wide, and probably 100% of the entry level.

I have two grandsons aged 20 who are trying to get started in their work life and go out daily looking for work. There is none.

Boomers, millianiles [sp], gen X, etc all had it easier than Bidens Broke Generation

We'll see if they have it worse than millennials.

Millennials had Covid AND the 2009 crash to deal with.

Gen Z needs another major economic meltdown (That somehow doesn't affect Millennials) to compete

The cost of college is just laughable - these kids leave school with debt they will never be able to pay back.

It really is a mess and by design

Job Openings Remain High, Signaling Continued Strength in Labor Market

There are still plenty of jobs for those who want them even as analysts say the market is returning to a more normal state.

It should hardly come as a surprise but the American labor market keeps on chugging, according to the latest data on job openings released Tuesday by the Labor Department.

The number of job openings at the end of February remained largely unchanged from the prior month, at 8.76 million compared to estimates of 8.73 million and a downwardly revised 8.75 million in January. The number of people quitting their jobs also changed little.

“In February, job openings increased in finance and insurance (+126,000); state and local government, excluding education (+91,000); and arts, entertainment, and recreation (+51,000),” according to the release. “Job openings decreased in information (-85,000) and in the federal government (-21,000).”

LINK

The markets fell today on news of persistently strong labor reports with fears of delayed cuts in the fed rate.

Maybe your grandsons are just goldbricking and not really looking for jobs. Maybe they're just un-hireable. Neck tats can do that to you.

My son is doing great he’s been at his current job for a year and graduates college this year. Doesn’t seem to be a problem for him and his friends.

The lack of housing supply will be their challenge. I feel for young adults just entering the job market and trying to buy a starter home.

Why would you want to try to buy a home when you've only just entered the job market? Wouldn't it be wise to wait a few years to save up the down payment?

I calls them as I see them. You are a very crude, rude dude to slander my two grandsons with no knowledge of their situation.

Maybe your patriarch would have done the world a favor by pulling out.

Why, yes, yes I am. Thank you for acknowledging that.

I didn't slander anyone. I merely posed a hypothetical situation that you may not have considered: they're dead beats.

I have some knowledge thanks to you: They can't seem to find work in a strong job market.

strong job market.

I'd say that is based on perception and very industry specific.

The labor participation rate is at historic lows, many people are out of the workforce due to lack of work.

There are plenty of layoffs from some of the largest, and most well performing companies in the country (Amazon, Google, etc.)

To say "it's a strong job market" is a glass half full statement at best.

Now is the era of most young people having to work at least 2 full time jobs. Thanks to bidenomics. .. working 2+ full time jobs and still struggling to make ends meet.

I think if millennials work hard enough at it, they'll be able to hold off Gen Z in the Despair Olympics.

They should blame their moms. Women are responsible for the acceptance of bad policies.

And no, illegals were supposedly at 12 million in 2008, we've imported close to another 10m since Biden got elected.

But, conservatives talked about this, for decades, re: immigration, and the response was "tax Elon Musk more." That's not the way things work.

Have no common sense also.

I give a written test for all applicants to my electrical business. Basic math, science, and reading comprehension. The amount of young adults that don't have elementary school levels of education is ridiculous.
