The tell tale sign is the hand positioning when he walks lately. Sorta stiff and held a little in front of him with the backs of his hands facing forward. Not a good sign.

He didn't wander off and he wasn't mid-speech. He offered to take questions and the first one was about Russia and Nord Stream, he wanted to stick with hurricane stuff and when the reporter pressed, he simply walked away.
