Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will be making a stop in Iowa this week, his first visit to the swing state that President Trump won in 2020 since he earned his party's nomination.

His campaign said he “will travel to Iowa and discuss bringing Americans together to address the crises facing the country and win the battle for the soul of the nation,” echoing the sentiment Biden has made throughout his campaign.

The trip suggests Biden thinks he can pull the state into his column. Polls show a tight race in Iowa, when went for the Obama-Biden presidential ticket in 2008 and 2012 before flipping to Trump in 2016.

As the Des Moines Register notes, Biden’s visit will take place one day after Vice President Pence is scheduled to hold a rally at the Des Moines International Airport.

I thought they put a lid on the campaign?

Harris sucks cackling and Jill sucks screaming. Both don't know how to work a crowd and no one cares about Joe.

The trip suggests that internal polling shows Biden trailing in every key midwest state, and is desperately seeking miracles.

I like how he was only “scheduled to go to GA/FL and now he’s hitting the MidWest. Pretty interesting behavior for someone who is up in the polls by double digits.

Not a good sign for MAGA.

Iowa and Georgia concern me.

But Pennsylvania is more important

I'd be really worried that he confused Ohio, Idaho and Iowa.

Right.

He's either waaaaaay up or he's scrambling to find another path outside of what their original plan.

I don't pretend to know which one is right.

Biden has no chance in Iowa or Georgia

Trump went to both recently but that was more to do with down ballot races.

This.

If he was up by so much, he shouldn’t have to campaign like this.

I absolutely believe she was told to laugh because they think it makes her look human. It is the a top worst laugh and it’s always at awkward times.
