We aren’t criticizing the decision to withdraw, it’s almost unanimous that we support withdrawing from Afghanistan.

Withdrawing is incoherent in the first place. There's no way that withdrawing is a coherent strategy in my opinion.
Withdrawing was always going to end up a mess and nothing I've seen changes that.

NO ONE in DC wanted out of Afghanistan when Trump first talked about pulling out. They ALL barbecued him for it. Then, when dems realized it was a big political winner, they all jumped on board, with the caveat that his exit strategy was flawed and they could do it better.
This was supposed to be the "better" exit strategy. The fact that Dems are defending this, much less blaming Trump, is proof positive that no one in this country ever thinks anymore.

They wanted us out, and we wanted out. Withdrawing didnt have to result in American diplomats being airlifted off of rooftops are being trapped in an airport locked down by terrorists.

This war was a huge waste of life, money, and time. It was a disaster. The fact that everything fell over within weeks is a testament to that. 20 years of propping up this government and training an "army" for nothing.
Afghanistan was a disaster. Never should've happened. Yes, pulling out was always going to be trouble. Shoulda done it ages ago.
