It should be a law put in place where both general election candidates HAVE to debate for President.

Much worse, but at least it will probably mean that MAGA goes away as well.

Trump appears to be sleeping. His head keeps dropping down and his mouth goes slack.

Maybe instead of a debate we can have a geriatric sleeping competition

Both Trump and Biden are cognitively impaired.

I imagine both will do all they can to keep a debate from happening.

it would be a colossal embarrassment for the nation if they do debate..

Anyone who watched Trumps press conference on Friday from Florida knows there is no way biden could stay on the stage with Trump...

Why would he debate Trump? It’s a no win situation for him.

He won the last election by cowering in his basement for almost the entire campaign.

When you know you can steal it, why engage the opposition

A 14 y.o. girl currently competing in her first year of HS debate would destroy Joe Biden in a debate with the topic: 'Should we elect Biden or Trump?'

Hes not going to debate Joe.

I believe there will be one debate. I think Trump has more to lose in a debate than Biden. The bar will be set so low for Biden that unless he literally falls over on the debate stage they will argue he did a great job. Trump will have to be careful with interrupting and looking mean spirited.

You mean the "leader" that took a knee in the first round and tapped out to his better?

This is likely true, because there is no way jibberish joe will get on stage with him.

The answer is that if he doesn't, Trump is going to HAMMER him about being too incompetent to debate. This is Trump's wheelhouse. He'll get a lot of mileage out of that on the campaign trail.

It's definitely possible. But, Democrats aren't confident they can succeed in stealing it.

The consensus on the two debates that took place in 2020 between Trump and Biden was that Biden won both.

Your memory does not align with history on this.

Why would Trump have needed to debate against someone who lost to none of the above?

That would be fine if these were debates. They're not. They're press conferences controlled by moderators who choose questions and alter flow of discussion. A real debate has no moderator. Lincoln v. Douglas did it right.

Are we pretending unbiased debate moderators exist?

It’s out of respect for the voters.

Why should I give someone a job when they refuse to interview?
