President Biden wants to transform the character of many American cities and suburbs by building more apartment buildings in quiet and frequently disproportionately White neighborhoods of single-family homes.

The black families in my small suburban town moved here specifically to get away from these government apartment shitholes.

You think cities like Montgomery, Birmingham, Baton Rouge, Tallahassee, etc won't take the money?

Won't be that way for long once you start putting in a bunch of apartment buildings in those areas. Almost every nice apartment complex I've seen built in the suburbs ends up becoming trashier and trashier as time goes by. The solution to the problems of poor crime ridden inner cities is apparently to export the problem to suburbs so that everywhere becomes poor and crime ridden.

The limousine liberals will remain safe in their super rich areas and behind their walls. No apartments and low income housing will be allowed in their backyards, I guarantee it.

The middle class people who have worked hard for years to buy a little dream and invest their hard earned savings in a 350K house will bear the brunt of this misguided attempt at fairness. They will see their neighborhoods rise in crime, instability, and trashiness, along with seeing their property values drop.

I have zero against section 8 housing. He should build it in all those run down urban centers. It does not belong across the street from my house.

The federal money scam that is used to blackmail the states has been working for decades, Do what they say or do without their/our money.

The way we change administrations every 4 to 8 years is also where our embedded, (deep state), government comes from too.

They know, as do our adversaries, that a President is a temporary employee.

Not sure how to fix that.

“What’s confusing to people is why segregation is so persistent in this country,” said Tracy Hadden Loh, a scholar of metropolitan planning at the left-leaning Brookings Institution in Washington. “Racial segregation is like a hydra. You cut off one head and two pop up.”

Because if you try to buy property in a historically black housing area you're told that you are being racist and support gentrification.

Policies that make it easier to move out of inner cities, she said, also could make people of color less likely to have dangerous encounters with police.

Fear porn.

quote:

“Do people want to live in an integrated society, or are people more comfortable in their own bubbles?” she asked.
Fears persist.

Everyone lives in their own bubble.

Urban planning in older cities is often a disaster due to urban sprawl. I'd much rather grants be given to poor communities to clean up blight and fix up neighborhoods with unsafe living conditions.

Putting apartments in the suburbs is no different than school integration busing. It looks good on paper, but actually further divides community structure.

I dont give a flying frick what race my neighbors are. If they can afford this neighborhood, they are hard working people.

I DO give a flying frick about lazy trashy people living here. That's why I paid a premium.

That's the problem with the left. There's not a race problem there's just a whole lot of middle class people that don't want to be around lazy trashy people of any race, period.

So we are going to move low income people to suburbs where there is less public transit and fewer jobs.

Can't wait to see how many new government programs will be created to fight the racism of not having jobs or public transit in the suburbs!

Karens are the biggest NIMBYs in the world. This just might break them.

Our native Nextdoor Karen was all over asking everyone to put BLM signs in their yards the help support the oppressed last year. Fast forward to someone about to develop some apartments at the end of the neighborhood and Karen was the first on Nextdoor to start shite about it causing too much traffic and changing the character of the neighborhood. It’s on land that is not even in the neighborhood, and she wants the HOA all involved.

They just trying to drive down housing cost I guess since property values would drop . Of course city budgets would be decimated

What they are trying to do is add to specific voting rolls in the suburbs. To hell if the infrastructure exists to support it.

Oh man, there is so much stupid in that article. I don't even know where to begin.

I'll open up to this as soon as Nancy and Joe start allowing duplexes to be built next to their houses.

I’m white I was born and raised in a shite hole in Hammond I was one of maybe 3 white kids in elementary school, then we moved to Ohio to a decent neighborhood but lived in a shite hole apartment, and more shite renter houses, my parents had to put in the time and work to move us up & man the stuff my father did to take care of us, and now 2 of his 3 children are home owners all 3 good jobs happy families, it’s all the same, color don’t matter it’s just simply will/ want.
