And Biden did absolutely NOTHING to address this threat in the long months leading up to the attack. The Foreign Policy Expert had no ideas, nothing pro-active, to address this threat OTHER than to react in a weak and incoherent manner after the war started.

I don't trust Biden's America to solve anything either domestically or globally. Your guy is a Potato.

Wrong!
Biden’s disastrous pullout In Afghanistan was the impetus for Putin’s boldness.

Let’s just be honest about this whole situation. Biden wanting to put Ukraine in NATO is not why Putin invaded Ukraine. Biden being elected POTUS is why Putin invaded Ukraine. Putin has wanted Ukraine under Russian control for a long time now and once Biden was sworn into office he knew he could take it and get away with it.

Kind of like walking down a public Park Path, only to encounter a large Eastern Diamondback coiled and rattling. You have every right to be on that path, and you have no intention of threatening the snake. But the snake doesn't realize that. Even though you meant the snake no ill-will, if you just back off a little, it will relax and eventually slither away. If you don't back off, it's likely it will strike, and when it does, it ain't like you weren't warned!

Great analogy NC and you are making the most sense in this thread.

You just keep pushing Putin and he will walk into Poland, after shatting our pants, we will agree to let him have Ukraine if he moves out of Poland.

Great comment. Ultimately the countries themselves have to have the capability to defend themselves or throw in with other countries to improve their odds of defending themselves.

I think what's being missed in all of these things is that NATO is a defensive alliance. Has anyone, anywhere ever thought that NATO is seeking to "take over" any other country? The answer is no. Putin, on the other hand, is using propaganda and force to expand its empire.

Putin may not like Ukraine becoming a member of NATO (because of his stated propaganda points), but what does he have to worry about? Does he think NATO is going to invade?

Will not happen. NATO presence in Poland, including 11000 US Troops. Would be bloodbath.

Deep down he knows NATO was never going to attack him. If NATO had wanted to attack Russia first and take over the country the best time to do it would have been when the old Soviet Union collapsed. He is just using NATO as an excuse to justify his actions with the rest of the world. Putin can say what he wants but he has a bigger lust for power than a fear of NATO.

frick that. Putin started this war. This is on him.

Bullies might be hungry, but that doesn't excuse them beating you up to take your lunch money.

Do I think we should enter this war? Heck, no. But I don't rationalize that with a bunch of propaganda and blame shifting.

And if the takeover is a success he'll have a real NATO country with US troops on his new western boarder.

So will this be the new "provocation" for Putin fluffers on this board?
