Joe Biden’s presidential campaign rejected a suggestion from President Trump’s camp to postpone the next two presidential debates by a week, the latest development in a head spinning back-and-forth over the format and dates of the next two head-to-heads.

The former vice president’s campaign rebuked Trump for trying to move the final two debates, currently slated for Oct. 15 and 22, to Oct. 22 and 29, saying the president was shirking his chance to debate next week after he pulled out of the town hall-style debate once the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) said it would be held virtually.

“Donald Trump doesn't make the debate schedule; the Debate Commission does. We accepted the three dates — Sept. 29, Oct. 15, and Oct. 22 — in June. Trump chose today to pull out of the October 15th debate. Trump's erratic behavior does not allow him to rewrite the calendar, and pick new dates of his choosing,” said Kate Bedingfield, Biden’s deputy campaign manager.

“We look forward to participating in the final debate, scheduled for October 22, which already is tied for the latest debate date in 40 years. Donald Trump can show up, or he can decline again. That's his choice.”

When they set those dates in June they also said the debates would be in person.

Wouldve won that bet. Wish there was betting lines on one of the debates being cancelled. As expected Biden is too afraid to debate Trump in person and of course they are making excuses blaming it on Trump. Voters better respond accordingly

Trump cannot and will not give in and this is just fine with Dems and the MSM who want to avoid spotlighting Sleepy Joe.

Otherwise, Trump can say, "Sure, just as long as we have a live representative group monitoring Sleepy Joe to verify he is not speaking from, reading or receiving any help from teleprompters, tablets, earpieces or any other audio-visual reference or forms of communication. Their team can do the same to monitor me. I don't need a crutch."

Since following how we've done things historically is suddenly so important to them, how about Trump agree to attend as many virtual debates as there have been in the history of Presidential debates

She is right, they accepted 3 dates for in-person debates. Trump doesn't get to change the dates and they should not be changed from in-person to virtual to protect Biden's chicken-shite frail arse.

Agreed. They're basically a "sporting event" for politics. I can't imagine there being many people making voting decisions based on these things.
