He is a Hispanic version of that white lady, Rachel Dolezal, that claimed to be black.

He tried joining the Hispanic Caucus back in 2013 and was denied because he is not Hispanic

El Paso Lawmaker Can't Join Hispanic Caucus; Some Seek Rule Change

O’Rourke, whose nickname is popular among Latinos, is not a member because he lacks Hispanic heritage. The exclusion comes despite the fact that O’Rourke — who beat eight-term House member and former CHC Chairman Silvestre Reyes — represents a district that is 80 percent Hispanic and whose voting-age population is 77.6 Hispanic, according to 2010 U.S. census figures.

Nope. He's always used his hispanic last name in his campaign graphics. He's always been very open about his heritage with his father appearing with him at events.

The comparison is inane.

Isn't this type of culture appropriation behavior detested by progressives. They must really be hating on Beto right now. Unless they are completely fake of course.

He's approximately 50% Cuban, 37.5% Irish and 12.5% Italian.

I hate that we're reduced to this, but WHAT somebody is (from a racial/ethnic standpoint) is far more important than the CONTENT of their character - it isn't even close.

All of his signs say "Beto for Senate". All of his campaign commercials also fail to mention his last name. In fact in the commercial there are more then a dozen different sign versions shown and none of them say anything except Beto.

People fashion a name that's common in their community. Beto grew up in El Paso.
