Do the hispanics not realize that Cruz is a Spanish name and O'Rourke is an Irish name?
He is careful to not advertise his last name. I swear he also keeps a permanent tan. He is 100% irish but he always has a spray tan to look more ethnic. He wife and kids are lilly white. One of his kids is a full ginger lol.

BETO
and then just above it the itty bitty
Robert

Doesn’t O’Rourke speak fluent Spanish? If he can relate to the Hispanic citizens of his state, that’s a good thing.

Yes, it is certainly possible (perhaps even “likely”) that his campaign has considered the possibility that the signage in question might turn the votes of a few thousand uninformed voters. The question to ask, however, is whether that fact would make any real difference in this campaign.
I wonder if you sampled random people in, say, Austin if they are voting for “Mr. O’Rourke” how many would say “yes” vs asking “are you voting for “Beto”.

quote:Of course I am voting for Cruz. Why? He is a bit too SoCon to be my perfect candidate, but he is a Textualist and Strict Constructionist, and he legislates accordingly.
if he weren't legit, he'd just lie about it. he WAS a cruz supporter, but he takes a lot of care to avoid indicating that he's voting for cruz unless i missed a previous post.
he is one of those true conservatives that have been mind fricked hard...voting for beto is the principally conservative thing to do. he's like the poliboard max boot.
Candidly, I would rather see him on SCOTUS. His intellect is wasted in the Senate.

You think when he met his wife he was like, “hi, I’m beto”
But if they met as teens or adults ... in EL PASO ...? Yeah.
Again, you have clearly never spent any time out there.

I wonder if I would be able to join? Great grandmother's last name was Ramirez?

Makes ya wonder - is Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz posing as a non-hispanic guy?
His last name is "Cruz". He doesn't have a way to scrub Hispanic from his name...not even remotely the same.

Really showing your ignorance here simple Trumpkin. You obviously need to learn the difference between race and cultural ethnicity. Is that within your capacity?

Cruz needs to continuously hammer a few themes and the nickname of opponent isn’t one of them. There are:
1. The economy is doing great and the oil patch is much improved.
2. Beto Orouke, as a Democratic Senator, will vote for open boarders, the abolishment of Border law enforcement, socialists policies and higher taxes. This will be done when the Dems need his vote, no matter what he says now about how he will vote.
3. A vote for Beto Orouke is a vote for Chuck Schumer.
4. Beto can not be counted on to support Conservative judicial appointments.

An entire thread where the Trumpers argue that they get to declare who is white enough or Hispanic enough to have a nickname. Talk about identity politics. The difference with you people is that you want to control everyone else. True authoritarian race baiting drivel. Give it up. That’s his nickname. He speaks Spanish. Get over it.

I believe the difference has already been defined as cultural appropriation by some of your favorite “leaders”.

Hell, even Robert Francis' official campaign committe is called "Beto for Texas". No last name.

That term is broad to be fair...really broad.
Government forms you have:
Are you:
1) Hispanic
2) White Hispanic
4) White Non-Hispanic
5) Latino
Hispanicity is independent and thus not the same as race, and constitutes an ethnicity category, as opposed to a racial category, the only one of which that is officially collated by the U.S. Census Bureau.
According to the 2010 U.S. Census, 53 percent of Hispanics chose “white “ as their race, while 36 percent chose “some other race.”

It was his childhood nickname in El Paso. That's more than I can say for Ted Cruz. Or should I say Raphael

Ridiculous. Cruz has omitted his first name.
