Imagine living in a place as economically successful as Texas and thinking ‘you know, what we could really use is a useless socialist clown like Beto for our governor.’
Don't have to imagine. Live in Travis County.

Good - turn Texas into the hell hole that California is.

Let the world see just how bad the Democrats’ socialism and tax plans really are.

His comments on gun control and financial services should scare the hell out of any wage earning, property owning, hard working American.

Yeah and in fairness, Beto is also underwater with independents.

I'm no fan of Gov. Wheels, but I would vote for him a 1000 times over Beta.

He couldn't beat Ted Cruz (who has a popularity rating of around -3.50) in a year when the Dems took the House and made significant gains in the Senate.

He couldn't get any traction for President despite being the only "Hispanic" in the race.

And now he's up against Abbott, who despite some of his puzzling actions is far more popular and is guaranteed at least one Hispanic vote (his wife, the first Latina First Lady of Texas).

Shouldn't he start small like running for Mayor of Simpleton first.

The 2015 Louisiana Governor's race is the biggest example of this.

Everywhere I went, I heard them say that JBE is a good family man that doesn't cheat on his wife and "seems" like a good public servant and is basically a republican. The most normie take possible.

Just shows you that.....

College degree doesn't equal common sense.

Just because you have a fancy and very expensive piece of paper doesn't mean you know how the real world works including political gamesmanship.

And these people are the ones that presume themselves to be our moral and highly educated betters who should have the most say in politics.

I’m glad Beto’s running; most off the cars with BETO bumper stickers have been sold or traded in and it’s not so easy to spot gullible, narcissistic morons in the wild. The media worked hard at selling a false narrative of who Beto is and what he believes, while refusing to disclose facts from Beto’s past that would have been problematic. The simple-minded were easily hoodwinked and went all-in on the fake Beto.

You’ll never convince most diehards but we’ll see if suburban women vote for Beto again or if they can swallow their pride and vote intelligently this time.

That Republican legislature led by a staunch conservative, John Alario.

I’ve also observed that few people understand that when Edwin redid our State Constitution, he made sure the Governor has power unmatched in any other state. The line item veto pen has been wielded early and often by Honor Code to bully legislators into having his way. Just in this last session, he scrubbed all kind of projects in districts of those that dared challenge him. He is a POS

Beto may have lost that year but he was a big turnout machine for down ballot races, toppled a few longtime GOP congressmen and brought out that wise Latina moron that's currently running the show in Houston right now.

Cruz and Abbott may have survived 2018 but that cycle was still very damaging to Texas GOP.

It was beyond nauseating watching that piece of shite get a taxpayer funded state funeral that rivals what American Presidents usually get.

The only send off he deserved was an in house service in the funeral home paid for by his family.

Line item veto needs to go the way of the dodo bird in the next convention.

It gives the Governor far too much leverage over the legislature.

This is great news for Republicans. He said some crazy shite when he ran for President that can be repeated over in over in campaign commercials. As a result, he can't sell himself to voters as a "moderate" Democrat. Someone like Matthew McConaughey is far more dangerous because he can sell himself as a "moderate" and Republicans don't really have anything to prove he isn't.
