The CEO could do the cashiers job in his sleep. The cashier wouldn’t last 1 minute in the CEOs shoes.

CEO is responsible for 235,000 employees. Cashier is responsible for only one.

More responsibility = more $.

Why can’t socialists comprehend basic math?

Senators should make the same as their secretaries, right?

I would think it would be the opposite...

What a cashier or cook does, you frick up one time and you can be fired, and its not something most CEOs want to do or have done in a long time if ever.

What the CEO does, you can frick up or be intentionally malicious and they might not ever find out, they might make excuses for you. It usually takes 6 months to a year.

Bernie's cleared a million dollars each of the last two years. The average American would have to work almost 200 years to make what he does in one.

How about their campaign interns, that Bernie was paying $10.10/hr to?

Bernie calls it insane, but my question is: why is it insane? What he doesn’t realize is he boomed himself in the tweet. He is chastising McDonald’s for not paying workers more, but doesn’t explain why the company is forced to pay so much to retain a ceo. If companies make money by holding down the pay of those at the bottom, why don’t they also seek to make money by holding down the very high ceo pay?

Bernie is actually somewhat honest when it comes to paying for the cost of socialism. He wants the top tax rate to be 50%, and the middle class to be around 35-40%. That's what it takes in Scandinavia. That's what it would take in the United States.

What he doesn't fundamentally understand is that economic wealth isn't a zero sum game, and pricing mechanisms are reflective of the value of something. This means when you think of things in absolute dollar terms, you'll always think of things incorrectly. To be fair, many conservatives fall in to this trap, especially on trade and tariffs. Thinking of things in absolute dollar terms, and not in relative dollar terms, will always lead to backwards thinking. A job isn't a dollar sum, it's the ability to access a share of the economy. And jobs are only worth the relative share of what they contribute to the global economy. CEOs are often in the business of removing large scale inefficiencies, and are often times worth what they are paid.

This is a much more complicated topic than what most of those on the right believe it is, however.

His cash salary is only $1.5M-ish. That’s only 90 or so time’s an $8/hr cashier who works full time. Sanders is economically illiterate.

It isn't, and he's aware of this.

He's just pandering to his economically illiterate fanbase like he always does.

Bernie will be your parties nominee (unless the buy him another car and home-- & threaten to put his wife in jail) a party that is kicking out Feinsten for being not left enough.
