Basic issue democrats have with church is it's promotion of a traditional family.

And of course the church's idea of a supreme law and morality and it being incumbent on parents to teach their children right from wrong, responsibility and citizenship based upon that law and morality. As opposed to democrats who kneel at the altar of state and would remove the teaching of right and wrong and morals from those parents and parenting in general and hand it to the state. Therefore the traditional mom and dad are competitors and the enemy of state. And the democrat party. The middle class is job one and on the front lines. Both white and the expanding black middle. Since that is the heart and soul of America.

You can see the obvious parallels with socialism in the democrat approach. Be it the socialism of Marx, Stalin or Hitler. Loyalty to the state is supreme. Teaching the young to blindly obey for the good of the state which is made up of the people. And empowering them to ignore or turn on their parents for their anti state attitudes. The democrats have the teachers on their side. So the traditional family and parents are on their heels and are overwhelmed. Racism is merely a talking point or at best a convenient rationale in this battle for control. JMO.

I think you might be slightly overlooking the literal millions of Democrats that attend church regularly

No I'm not. I know some of those. They are either shell shocked a bit or in denial.

They may physically be present in some cases but aren’t there mentally.

Pelosi, for example, got reamed out by Il Papa in Rome and tried to spin it as her trying to enlighten him on what the church should be teaching IIRC.

They either 1) attend a church that isn’t Christian except for in name or 2) they aren’t progressive.

Progressivism is the opposite of Christianity.

Look at most any of these progressive groups dems side with. Most all of them say they are against the nuclear family. Most dems aren't smart enough to read the ideas of organizations they cheer for though. Most karens out there cheering on BLM and Antifa right now would shite their pants if they knew the long term goal was to destroy their family unit.

OP said “church” not Christian. Plenty of Democrats attend synagogues, Unitarian churches, etc.

OP said “Democrats” not progressives.

Your interpretation of Christianity is not in line with “progressivism.” Nobody has a monopoly on what Christianity means. That’s why there are multiple sects and denominations. Even within those denominations, there can be fundamental disagreements between factions or individuals.

Dems don’t take issue with Black churches.

It’s white churches they don’t like.

I think the OP should have rephrased it as "biblical Christianity".

There are a lot of churches that hardly resemble Christianity in their doctrine, putting the "social gospel" above the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Typical Marxist tactic. You're not a family unit, you belong to the State. Your children will be used to spy on you. The Church is subversive to the State. There can only be one relgion. The State.

Christianity is about putting God first then Humanity second... ...with the State coming in a distant third.

Big Government types HATE that they are relegated in that philosophy.

He probably ran around accusing people of being Nazis and cancelled them.

Good point.

Of course they would.

Remember they had a big fight over opening their sessions with an "Almighty Spirit of the Universe" type prayer.
