Maybe he really wanted less Danish investment in US Treasuries…
A Danish pension fund is planning to sell its entire holdings of U.S. Treasuries — about $100 million — over concerns about the U.S. government's financial stability.
AkademikerPension confirmed to CBS News that it is exiting U.S. Treasuries by the end of this month and that it will instead turn to the U.S. dollar and short-duration debt.
"The decision is rooted in the poor U.S. government finances, which make us think that we need to make an effort to find an alternative way of conducting our liquidity and risk management," Anders Schelde, chief investment officer of AkademikerPension, told CBS News in a statement.

As I predicted, we got something that we already have and the usual suspects are here to claim that this was the greatest deal in the history of the universe and you're a commie cuck if you don't agree
You talk a lot of shite for someone who has no idea whats going to be announced.
Also, just because we have things now doesnt mean that we will have them in the future. I bet what we are getting is some kind of permanence and autonomy in the area that the Danish will not be able to rescind or demand that we vacate.

There are rare earth minerals there that are crucial to national defense. Maybe we get all of the benefit of them and the Danes get nothing.
Sigh......

I don't know what the sigh is for. Its fact that Greenland has these things.
I am simply speculating on what a deal would look like without the US acquiring Greenland.

The dude negotiated the deal that we already had… there’s no art of the deal here.
HA!
But at least everyone tuned into his WWE pointing and bellowing show time, "LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!!" !
The art of the deal is now threatening, braggin', strutin, and preening about like a peacock ... and foot-stomping til he gets his way.

He wants bases and missiles there, Denmark already lets us have facilities there.
Not good enough. It's never enough for him. No "legacy" to that. He really wants the rights to build a big beautiful exclusive 'Trump Towers' on Nuuk-Nuuk, just like one on Gaza, and the one that'll be in Caracas and Havana.

Per Wiki

According to the 2004 amendment, the United States is supposed to consult with Denmark and Greenland before it makes “any significant changes” in its military operations on the island.
Trump doesn’t want to have to continually consult these people. It takes too much time.

You seem like a smug, insufferable douche. Which liberal arts college did you attend? Sarah Lawrence? Oberlin?

It’s amazing how people haven’t figured out his negotiating tactic. Bluster and make outrageous statements to get everyone to the table and then have very coherent and reasonable requests.
what negotiating tactic? he's terrible at it and gets his arse handed to him over and over

Alright that's great. Can you explain it?
My posts are pretty "milktoast" in this thread, really just speculating on a deal.
So let's hear it.

There are many times when I ask myself why Trump presents the way he does ...
And then I remember the 2 assassination attempts, the election cheating, the criminal indictments, changing NY law just to prosecute him
And...I understand just a bit better. Meanwhile, nobody knows what is being negotiated but it sure will benefit the US.

Couldn’t you just ask them to go to the table and they’d respect you cause we’re all adults and you don’t need to act like a retard all the time?

Fully half the complainers all up in this thread (that’s your subset) couldn’t have found Greenland on a map before all this.
3/4 couldn’t have told you it’s population, its demographics, or with whom it has an imperial alliance, much less it’s geopolitical importance.
100% hadn’t even thought of Greenland for the last 20 yrs, if ever…
