Maybe... just maybe.... Washington was too preoccupied with impeachment. Why didn't Congress listen to "experts" and take actions in January / February?

And when did your EU role models enact their China travel ban?

Yes he downplayed it, the question is why. Did he downplay it to buy more time, for scientist and doctors to gather more data and make preparations without people hoarding? The likely answer is that he said what he needed to say to slowly introduce the American public into what was coming. All at once would have crashed the markets and caused mass panic buying

Congress isn't the Executive branch you simpleton. Why didn't you fellow LWNJ sycophants focus on this disease over impeachment horseshite? Because you and your fellows are ignorant, dishonest, politically motivated turds.

Meh... this is a pandemic caused by a novel virus. Its unfortunate but we should feel blessed the numbers arent much higher than they are.
We are at the mercy of mother nature to some degree and the unique capabilities of this virus.
Certainly lessons learned but doing as well as can be expected and as well as previous administrations dealing with similar events.

What do you think he did *wrong*...but don't just tell me what you don't like. Wrong = actually caused damage, spread.
And, before you post anything about "lack of testing," think it through logically with the following two facts:
1) Some percentage of infected (up to 50% reported) never show symptoms; and
2) Infected people shed the virus but show no symptoms for an average of 8 days.

you pretty much summed it up....
my point to this whole thread was get some of the libtards to realize that DJT listens more than they think. Anyone that visits with him says exactly this. also shows that he is nowhere near the impulsive chimp the MSM like to portray him as.

He clearly ignored the experts early on, or at least pretended it was no big deal in public. Maybe the cases and deaths piling up caused him to change direction.
Like the WHO that said it wasn't dangerous and did not transmit from person to person?
Or the "experts" who said we didn't need to shut off travel to and from CHYNA?

What actions did Chuckles the Senate Clown and Princess Denture Chewer Pelosi take?
Why are they exempt from blame in the rampant infection and deaths?
Co-Equal Branches and Princess Pelosi claiming she's in charge and stuff makes her just as guilty of messing up the pandemic response.

What would you have had him say? To panic? The courage of most people in this nation is thin and hangs by a thread. One little bit of panic, and you ended up with empty shelves of toilet paper, cleaning supplies, eggs, rices, etc.
Imagine if Trump had said "This is going to be disastrous!!!", when we really didn't know. Can you imagine how different the media reaction would have been?

You're giving Trump a lot of credit here when the truth is almost certainly a lot simpler: He simply didn't have a clue.

Whatever floats your boat chump.
Why aren’t you calling the left liars and media that always seem to leave out the pertinent information of WHO and the lambasting he got for shutting China travel down.

Only democrats are allowed to “change their stance” and “evolve”.

You aren't employing the logic most of the people here use, if Trump said it was going to be disastrous, the media would have downplayed the entire thing just to prove Trump wrong, half the country wouldn't have panicked and the markets wouldn't have crashed.
quote:
Yhe job of the president of the United States of America is to keep his people calm.
Well then, mission: failure.

You can't possibly be serious, or this naive. The markets crashed and mass panic buying ensued. To think Trump is some genius prognosticator that knew all of this was coming is just plain fricking absurd.

Okay President mmcgrath, how would you have handled the situation then and now. Remember, you're going to be highly criticized for your answers. That's how us media TDers work which in the real world seems to be accepted by more than half of the nation.
