You're absolutely right. She was a much different person our senior year of high school. High moral standards, pleasant, approachable, friendly. . . A genuinely good person in every way.
Hollywood has a way of destroying souls and I fear that is what happened to Ashley. It's quite saddening to see it. I hope that one day she is able to become that wonderful person she once was again.

Yes to the rape/sexual molestation, but not sure whether it was Weinstein. Hollywood has its predators that "initiate" the newcomers seeking success. I didn't know Naomi or Wynona enough to know what they may have done to break into the music business so successfully. I had always believed it was simply talent and dedication - and I still believe that.
Ashley had talent, dedication, and the looks to do whatever she wanted. There are those evil SOB's out there in the world of entertainment, however, who are just lying in wait for someone to draw into their web and I have a feeling that this is what may have happened in Ashley's case, although I can't say with certainty.
Yeah, I got thoroughly disgusted with her when she pulled that "nasty woman" stunt, but then I reflected on it a bit. That certainly wasn't the Ashley that we had known for that last year of high school. The "nasty woman" Ashley was diametrically opposed to the 17 and 18-year-old Ashley we knew.
Something happened to her to change her at the core like this and it undoubtedly happened in or around Hollywood. She was still quite based in college at UK and for a few years afterward.
My anger and disgust with her was misplaced, and it has since turned into sadness and sorrow. She was an exceptionally bright, kind, and loving individual up and into her mid-to-late 20s. The evil of being surrounded by a make-believe world took its toll on her. I really do hope she finds her way back to the light.
