I have these conversations with old buddies from high school. The consensus is they don't want to say anything because they just don't want to deal with the mob, but that they can't believe how many people they are friends with or went to school with have bought into the narrative completely.

Are you engaging with these people? Is it worth it? How is it going?

It seems like everybody is scared to death to say anything back to these people, which allows these ideas to be perpetuated and even thought to be "correct."

Is it hopeless?

For me, Facebook was a collection of people I had no desire to keep up with after HS and college, so I killed it 2015. LinkedIn was an alternative, but its slowly becoming Facebook with a business veneer. I also have a Twitter account, but with 25 followers and 200 people I follow.

I haven't worked for anyone since 2016, and prior to that I had my own company from 08-14. I say this just because I think I'm just going to cut it all off. It provides no utility for me and honestly makes me miserable to read. There's no reason to be engaged on those platforms for me, so I think I'm going to cut them off.

I glanced at Facebook the other day and saw a guy from high school giving his support to BLM. So I foolishly posted what Candace Owens said about All Black Lives Matter and that Floyd is no martyr. I got attacked left and right, so I deactivated and wont go back for many moons.

I know a guy that had worked at a place for almost 30 years. Somebody posted an off color racial remark onhis FB page. He commented ....”Ha”.

One of the company’s customers saw it.... reported it to his boss, and they told him to clean out his desk.... you’re fired!

Don’t be foolish folks. These are crazy times, people are on edge, cancel culture is strong, virtue signaling. and people / companies are scared sh!tless of being called racist.

It’s not worth it. Hell with ‘em.

I'm not taking a knee, that's for damn sure.

Easy to go down the rabbit hole of endless taunts and insults, but I generally say my piece and move on.

Zero politics for me on FaceBook, but Twitter is a different story.

I have a particular method of "fighting back." I never assume I'm going to directly change minds. But I also don't want to just say and share a bunch of echo chamber stuff.

I very very rarely share anything from a "conservative" media source or blog etc. It's usually the opposite with just some limited "pithy" (aka cynical) commentary pointing out a fatal flaw, inconsistency and/or hypocrisy. (Or conversely, some "blind squirrel" pieces.)

I have become fairly adept at baiting leftists and other general lunatics into some bad positions in my threads but I don't host debate forums.

I think the only reason I continue this exercise is to keep myself sane thinking that maybe I'm at least showing people who are on the fence or haven't thought about or researched issues, that there are other viewpoints besides what's on "the news" or in the mob's social media feeds.

And there is some ra-ra, you aren't alone and aren't crazy to resist the faux Resistance, stuff, to the home crowd.

Probably all a collosal waste of time but it's at least an outlet and keeps my brain from turning to mush or exploding.

Yes. But I have fake "Russian bot" accounts I'm using. There's no filter when you're anonymous.

Come join the God Emperor Trump group for those of you who are on Facebook and would like to participate in Meme War II.

I have a burner Twitter handle just for political shite. I have used that handle to poke and nudge at lib friends and family from time to time.

I agree re: fighting back at the ballot box - as long as the election is honest. I really doubt that it will be. The Dims will find a way to cheat. They always have.

i have tried over the years. what i have discovered is that they aren't rational. if you keep trying to converse with them, even with the best of intentions, you're the one being foolish. they don't want to listen to "racist facts." no matter how many citations i provided, they are convinced that the earth is dying, police are hunting down black people, "religion" is evil, white people are evil, conservatives are evil, etc.

All I’ll say is if you haven’t procreated yet you need to really really fricking really think about what your progeny will have to contend with. I know I’m a pessimistic and cynical bastard but come on man. I read book of Job Chapter 3 every year on my birthday. Read that before you decide if you want to procreate please.

The left understands a significant portion of their base have nothing to lose or have sympathetic employers to leftist ideology. There are few to no conservative-minded employers who won't buckle at the first sign of mob outrage. With that in mind, you have this mass screenshot campaign of any sentiment posted to social media that can be twisted to mean something insensitive or racial.

I dropped all social media. I can't risk losing my job over it. If it comes to the point I need to, then I also need to arm myself and get ready for war.

Mate I’m a member of the God Emperor Trump page. If you’re in there with your real name, be careful in the comments as there are leftists who are keeping lists and working to match people up with their LinkedIn profiles and build “cases” against them. I’d even be careful of the likes you pass out TBH.
