Are we so politically divided now that our differences are irreconcilable?

I'm not giving up on the Founders vision for America but I'm questioning whether the current political environment is beyond repair. The Prog/Dim leftists have thrown down the political gauntlet, they have let all American patriots know the country we desire is not the country they will allow us to exist in. The Prog/Dim leftists believe they have the collective power via the MSM, Academia and the corrupt Deep State government to brashly do whatever they want to secure political power without consequences. I pray enough Americans can see the dangerous situation the Dims have put this country in and soundly reject the Dims plans for America's future.

Until one side stops throwing a fricking hissy fit every time they don't get their way?

Yep, we're pretty much done.

Yes

But it probably won't matter for another few decades. Most Americans are willing to overlook the irreconcilable differences so long as they can still generally own guns, get abortions, say what they want, keep most of their money, etc.

If either side successfully starts to breach into these areas in meaningful ways, then the situation will get more serious

Yes

It was bad enough getting up and going to work everyday so some lazy POS in this country could sit on his/her arse all day and do nothing. Now they want me to do it for some POS half way around the globe.

frick them

This Impeachment is a big step towards it. Once this scenario plays out again with a complicit Senate and they remove a President for such subjective charges we will definitely be at "irreconcilable".

Completely different worldviews that compel people to come to different conclusions while looking at the same information.

No. The message that we are divided is 100% propaganda, and the people who receive that message are, generally speaking, marks who watch way too much tv.

Absolutely yes.

65,853,625 voters cast a ballot for Hillary Clinton in 2016. Democrats & their supporters are hypocritical idiots. They are hell bent on destroying this country.

You're certainly partially correct in that the polarization isn't felt among most people.

But that's because they're uninterested. Assuming, arguendo, that those who lean left will stick with the Democrats as they move left, and same with the right, we're divided.

What unites us? Freedom? Of what? What does that mean?

The modern Democratic party is actively trying to undermine our foundational documents. Hell the NYT is right now trying to change the narrative of the country's founding.

The divide is real. Whether people will split over it along traditional party lines or it'll be more lopsided is a different question.

I watch about 6 hours of TV a week, 2 football games usually. We are about out of time to be able to peacefully live in the same country.

Until Dems do some soul searching and do an internal evaluation of what’s going on, they will continue to destroy this country. They are the jerk at the playground who wants to take his ball and go home if things don’t go his way... and it’s not even his ball to take, but he doesn’t care. He tries to change the rules you’ve always had bc he thinks it’ll help him next time and is furious when the new rules still hurt him.

They’re acting like a power hungry mob with specific goals of their own they’re trying to impose, not a political party trying to represent their constituents. They don’t care what their people want, they lie and manipulate their fan base to do/say as they’re told without critical thinking.

I think there is some truth to this. I don't believe the average democrat is a hateful, seething socialist and I don't think the average republican is a bible thumping puritan.

About 80% of normal people? No.

The 10% extreme fringe sheep vocal psychos on each side? Yes.

We need to stop feeding and supporting those lunatics.

Establishment is making it irreconcilable.

An investigation into anyone who goes against what they say or want. I firmly believe that's why most msm seem to have a hive mind and spew the same talking points.

A big msm entity who completely goes against establishment ... will probably have a long line of charges brought against them. As our government starts to try and take all their money away.

Even if they are, the average one of both is fat and lazy, and war is cardio.

Yes we are. Figuring out how the divorce will take place is going to be the trick.
