frick you, the issue was to shame people into NOT saying "Merry Christmas".
Immature choice of language aside, you are projecting the views and behavior of a VERY small minority upon a hundred million Americans who do not share your overall worldview.

I suppose that I am culturally-Christian, but I find the religion itself to be ludicrous. Nonetheless I have never been bothered in the slightest by receipt of a friendly (or sincere) "Merry Christmas," and it does not bother me in the slightest to GIVE the same greeting to anyone that I know will appreciate it.

All matters of simple courtesy. Hard for insecure faux-martyrs to imagine, I suppose.

How petty and insecure must some Christians be, to refuse acknowledgment of that fact and to refuse to share simple friendly holiday greetings with members of those other religions?

Here in Louisiana we don’t have those other religions

People never stopped saying it but for a few years you could see businesses avoiding the words. However, last Christmas most businesses went back to tradition.

In K-12 we were told to say Happy Holidays to be inclusive. Never since, though.

This certainly is not a Christian country.

"Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!" is a nice salutation, but there's nothing wrong with shortening it to "Happy Holidays!"

You really have to be looking for an argument or a reason to be offended to get bent out of shape when someone says, "Happy Holidays!" There is no reason to automatically assume that people saying this are atheist or anti-Christian.

By asking a question like this, you're really showing your lack of stones! If you want to say Merry Christmas, man-up and say it.

Its Merry Christmas, not happy holidays

"happy holidays" is just part of the plan of minimizing Christianity from daily life
