I’m at church now. Bible study from 9:30-10:30, and service from 11-12. Followed by lunch with the fam, and a nap. Might go fishing later on.
Hebrews 10:25
New American Standard Bible 1995
25 not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Consider yourself invited to a church near you. I live in Denham. Currently attending First Baptist (but I’m non-denominational). They have a great youth program. Lots of good churches in Denham.
ETA: I started going back to church during the Biden years

A fitting name as well. I shall start doing so as well. It’s been too long. Last service I went to was at the Pantheon in Rome, but that was a Catholic ceremony. It’ll be good to go back to church again and make that my weekly routine. After all, we are creatures of habit, are we not?

Well we can discuss covering up raping children if you'd prefer to discuss that blasphemy.

That’s inexcusable but at least priests aren’t preaching to people in the pews about God favoring those who rape kids.

Yes, twice a week, if possible.

Osteen and his ilk could only dream about owning their own city state while sitting on 30 billion
Y’all were selling indulgences for thousand years before Osteen came along

Dont be fooled, there is a quiet resurgence. My road back to Christ as an adult started with my marriage, then witnessing the miracle of my children. Covid was my full realization of the spiritual battle being waged.
I can tell you, im not the only one. Praise be to Christ

Gen Z men actually have been returning to churches in greater numbers than millennials were at that age. Young men actually outnumber young women in churches for the first time in generations. However, attendance at churches in general is still falling.
I go sometimes, but I am not consistent with it and haven’t been since my wife divorced me. I just don’t feel the strong connection with God or my church community when I am there anymore, and I don’t like being reminded of that. I hate attending mass alone enough as it is. I believe religion, especially Christianity, can be great for people, but it’s not doing much for my specific problems right now, and often feels more like empty rituals performed out of guilt.

started going regularly again last fall after almost dying from a gallbladder issue I let get to the point where I spent a week in the hospital.
Some years back I had a gallbladder and biliary duct issue hospitalize me for 10 days. I feel you pain. Well, more specifically, I remember mine. Horrible. I've had severe dental pain, broken bones and acute appendicitis that weren't even a miniscule fraction of gallbladder pain. It's the only thing that ever completely debilitated me.

The ages of a majority of the kids molested were from ages 11-17 and also boys. Mostly post pubescent boys. These men were pederasts to be exact not pedophiles. Pedophiles like the kids who are younger than under the age of pubescence. Most homosexuals don’t molest children, but most of the priests who molested children were homosexuals. I have zero sympathy for any priests, bishops, cardinals or popes that hid sexual abuse. That’s one thing we agree on, but let’s be more precise in the terminology. Pederasts (and homosexual) mostly not pedophiles.

Do you think selling indulgences is the prosperity gospel? It’s not.
Catholicism teaches that God favors the poor, not that God blesses people he likes more than others with material wealth.

It’s prosperity gospel on steroids.
You could give money to the church not just to be blessed but to in fact absolve yourself of sins.

Quite an interesting concept to preach when your bishop lives here on Madison Avenue:

Estimated Abuse Rates by Institution Institution
Estimated Abuse Rate (Per 100,000 Children Per Year)
-Public Schools ~450 per 100,000
-Boy Scouts ~100–200 per 100,000
-Protestant Churches Likely 1–5 per 100,000
-Catholic Church (Priests Only) ~1 per 100,000
-Family & Acquaintances Much higher than all
Depending on your source 80-90% were boys. In 1985 it got up to 92% boys.

I’ve been going all along, but my Church has not seen a change in attendance in the past year.
