Not quite sure how voter ID laws would have stopped him.
There's this thing called "residency", it means where you live or reside. Your drivers license has your "residency" on it, so you can only vote where you reside. College ID's don't have your "residency" on them, therefore you could vote at college and back home with your driver's license. If you want to vote at college, you must change your "residency" on your driver's license to your college address. Most states will not issue a driver's license to out of state students.
Can you wrap your feeble little mind around that.
One person, one ID, one vote. I know you hate it, but it's how it's gonna be.

So basically - you're afraid of a bunch of foreign graduate students voting in your elections?
Why do you want foreigners voting in our elections?

All you bleeding heart liberals out there who keep claiming voter ID laws are discriminative and suppressive to minorities, riddle me this: Why is the White House so oppressive to poor minorities and want to keep them out of this privaledged place?
Yes, you see in order to tour The White House, you are required to have a government--issued photo ID. So the people's White House, that we all have a right to visit, may only be accessed when someone has a photo ID? Sounds like a racist oppressive rule that can only be enforced for one reason and one reason only. Obviously to keep poor vulnerable minorities from being able to visit such a historic place. This commander in chief must be a republican, probably a Bush, makes perfect sense, oh wait......

Simple. Because it's very easy to make a false university id. Period. Quit stoking stupidity.

We really will use "destroy" for any half-assed defense of an idea with which we agree, won't we?

All they would have to do is vote via absentee ballot in their home state while voting in person in the state where they go to school. Throw in this "early voting" crap and they could start voting virtually daily weeks before the actual election day.

Texas personal identification card issued by DPS
Cost = $16
In the end, that will not stand.
For the life of me, I cannot understand WTF Texas was thinking to charge for an ID. Stupid!

Impossible. Voter fraud doesn't exist. Drivers licenses are racist.

Oh, I don't know…maybe because many college kids are from out of state?
Its because you HAVE to have an ID to get into college. So the point is moot, students have valid ID's or they aren't in school, period

Willy nilly? So you trust university officials to confer on students a degree which they can parlay into gainful employment in very specialized fields, but you don't trust these same officials to give out ID's to its students
Are you being serious with this load of crap? Have you been to college ? Do you not realize how lax the id process is in many schools? Do you realize it's often student workers involved with the process?

You're correct that students do have to show ID to get a college ID card. But that ID can be from Bangladesh, Ireland, China or any other foreign country for that matter. College ID cards are only meant to show that the person who owns the card is a student of that college. Thus, a college ID is worthless in telling if a person is a citizen of the US.

Colleges aren't state agencies.
True story. A couple years after college I got some LSU student tickets and needed an ID. I went gave them a buddy's name and got my picture taken for an ID with his name on it. Used it that season to get into the student section.
