They don't even consider the fact that we are nearing $40 TRILLION in the hole and one day, on this current path, the whole thing will collapse and die.
They aren't considering the fact that when that day comes, NO ONE will have a "safety net" provided to them by the government. We have to go through a little pain at some point to weed out the fraud and leeches that refuse to work or add anything positive to society, in order to prevent the entire house of cards falling and effecting those that actually legitimately *deserve* that safety net.
It's a choice that needs to be made, but everyone is so soft now they're scared of any hard choices that may lead to any short term inconvenience. If we don't trim the fat now, EVERYONE in this country suffers instead of just being those that bring nothing to the table.
