McCain and Romney are two of the most milquetoast establishment candidates to ever run for president, yet both were vilified by the media when they ran. And since then, the media has only become more militant and partisan.
Why do you think another candidate besides Trump will magically be treated fairly by the press? Or are your concerns more about keeping party unity?

Can you point to anyone that has suggested this? Literally no one thinks this.

The media has, in part, polarized the country today to the point many of the single white women will never vote Republican.

Along with the mail-in balloting, the communists in the media have been at the top of the list in things destroying the fabric of our country.

Desantis is already vilified in the national media but it didn't stop his landslide

Why do you status quo guys keep refusing to see trumps plummeting approval ratings and the fact that his only win, he lost by 3 million on the popular vote

I hate this "well the other guys will lose anyways so let's just keep running the loser"

I've seen no one say this. It's a given that any Republican candidate is going to get hammered constantly by the media. Anyone who doesn't think this probably can't tie their shoes. The establishment media has been left for a very long time, but over the past decade or so, they've gone way far to the left. Just like the party they run cover for...

It is what it is at this point.

Yes, in Florida, a state that has way more registered Republicans than Democrats. How do you think he’d do in states with a different demographic

Frankly, I don’t think any conservative Republican candidate can win the presidency under our current voting setup.

Desantis is a far better candidate but his anti Woke tagline is going to go badly if he runs on that too much

Many thinking Desantis is Trump without the baggage seem under the impression that Desantis will not have to deal with the same nonsense Trump did.

The only time a Republican will be treated even remotely well is when they agree with the left on an issue. As soon as they show signs of being a R again, they'll go back to bashing them. They loved Liz Cheney for months, then when she talked about being anti-abortion, the fangs came out again.

DeSantis isn't a moron who constantly says stupid shite and falls for every single media trap. He'd be able to articulate his position and expose the media. Heck, he did that with the 60 Minutes hit piece. He called them out for it and when more footage came out CBS quietly went away.

I would think again about anyone supported by Meagan McCain and Paul Ryan.

DeSantis won’t be treated fairly. Nobody expects that. They’ve already lost their shite over him in countless ways from the lockdowns, “Don’t say gay,” and sending illegals to MV.

But BDR won’t step on his dick on a daily basis and start constant petty fights that do nothing to move the football.

Yes, here in Florida.

They will eviscerate him all across this country for a year leading up to the 2024 election.

The country will know that he is a cold blooded murderer. He’s boys with Trump. Even emulates some of his mannerisms.

DeSantis with get fricking WRECKED by the media just like Trump did.

Democrats LOVED McCain before 2008. They loved him afterward. But for that year, he was a loathsome, mean-spirated, repulsive, racist, mysoginistic, villian.

Trying to pick a candidate the media will like is fools gold. Never going to work.

Any reasonable person *should* be able to recoginze that DeSantis is better with his words and approach than Trump is capable of being.

People that defiantly defended Paul Ryan years ago on this board have returned.

The Ron DeSantis cheerleaders have most certainly advocated that Ron would be magic, Trump with a filter and they foolishly think the entire country of non-democrats would adore Ron as they do.

He will be eaten alive and spit out. Even if Ron denounces Trump and MAGA as toxic.

Ron is a good governor. No way would he get PA or the rustbelt. Karen's in the burbs were brainwashed nitwits that think anyone but a D will take away their pap smears and abortions, gay, tranny rights. Rust-Belt Trumpocrats knew Trump was LGBTQUR friendly.

The GOP WOULD NOT provide Ron their half assed support unless he obeys their canned fake speeches. FULL STOP.

Even if he obeyed, they will leave Ron rode hard and put up wet. As he is a placemat, they would rather democrats like Liz Cheney win. Think of it like this. Liz Cheney used to talk like Ron politically. How long before Ron takes off his mask? He will not bite the hand that feeds him.

Lara Trump or Candace Owens/Ric Grenell 2024- ENACT SCHEDULE F on day one.

The Chamber of Commerce rules our reps-NOT WE THE PEOPLE. Until the Turtle caucus are made to retire, it is their way or the highway. They are pushing Scalise or Rick Scott to replace Turtle. We need Rand Paul or Massie or a HFC member.

I could never argue against this point. But playing Devil’s Advocate, would DeSantis be as fervent to combat both the Washington and global establishments?
