My wife are deeply rooted folks - small hometown type people, if you will. I never thought we would be nearing a point of agreement to move away from our roots, but she’s really warming up to the idea. I’m just simply tired of living around the heavy entitlement and victim mentalities. I think I’m ready to move my wife and kids to a predominately white, conservative rural State.

Is anyone else here having similar contemplations?

be careful about what you ask for, you just might get it?

in a lot of places you're thinking about you'd either be around a LOT of Mormons or a lot of whack job liberals...

That’s cool, that’s been my stance for 50 years. I just think the alternative is worth a shot.

I know. I think Mormons would be a fair trade off. Not liberals.

Hell, I’m thinking the South May be the last bastion of hope for this country.

Take CHAZ off the list. They have a wall and strict immigration policy.

Wyoming? Montana? I’ve thought about it. Less for me, more for my kids.

East Tennessee is nice, plus the added benefit of no income tax. Live close enough to Virginia, N Carolina, Georgia you can run across the border to shop and avoid higher sales taxes.

Having been around the country and met people from the many places I haven’t visited, I am convinced our divide is urban (inner city) vs. non-urban. I think residents of Birmingham and Atlanta and have more in common with citizens of New York City and Los Ángeles than they do with their suburbs, like Hoover and Marietta, respectively. Having met people from upstate New York, I definitely have more in common with them than I do with my liberal nut-job cousins from the Lenox-area of Atlanta.

Maybe your State will withstand migration for another decade or so. Texas let me down a little during the Corona Shamdemic.
