Still misinformed. It takes me 1% of your 5 mins to plug my car in once every few days. And “runs my electricity bill up” no more than $20/month. I understand why you think ICE cars can be more convenient but your reasons why Teslas suck are invalid.

I get that this is your opinion, but it’s just so factually ridiculous it’s clear you have never driven a Tesla, taken a trip in a Tesla, charged a Tesla, or talked to anyone who charges at home with their Tesla. It’s just bizarre to have such strong opinions on something with no knowledge

You can have it all , good luck

EVs are awesome for daily commuting but the real breakthrough at Tesla and other companies will be fully self driving vehicles. Once that technology matures the roads will be 10000x safer.

And populations will be 10,000 times more controlled. You really think I want to base a trip around a charging station. Power grid cannot handle it it's never going to be the only way we transport things. I'm cool with it being an option that's what America is about is options and free market. But don't force that stupid crap down people's throat like libtards are doing. It don't have jack shite to do with saving the environment. Hybrid technology has more of a future than full EV

I don’t think anything should be shoved down your throat. But I predict in the future insurance companies will make unaffordable to have a non self driving vehicle.

As much as I appreciate Musk, I will never drive an EV

They have a LONG way to go with the tech, then. It's a neat party trick... and a neat convenience factor, but no way in hell would I trust mine to actually drive me anywhere. Heck, it'll make you tighten your backside up at a redlight... yes, it always stops (if there is a car in front, that is) but it doesn't do it softly. Obviously, mine isn't a full self driving, it's just driver assist where it does everything for you, but you still have to keep a hand on the steering wheel, but still, same principles.

No. They were overpriced garbage last year. They're overpriced garbage today.

Yah the Model S Plaid from 2022 or 2023 seem like a heckin steal. Can get one with low mileage for under $55k. They were over $100k brand new

That’s a huge loss of value in 2-3 years. Is the loss of value because of politics/Elon hate or have Teslas always dropped that quick?

There are tons of fairly recent videos on Youtube of Tesla FSD. "Whole Mars Catalog" has some good ones. They're mediocre when it comes to parking lots. Everywhere else, everything looks great.

You do not need to keep your hands on the steering wheel anymore with Tesla FSD. You basically get in the car, hit a button, and it handles interstates, highways, suburban streets, and city streets pretty much perfectly. They take some impressive defensive precautions as well. My only concern right now would be NOLA potholes. They're supposedly improving there, and I'm ~5 years away from buying a new car, so I'm sure the FSD will be damn near perfect by then. I'm not terribly interested in electric vehicles, but I hate driving, so my next car will be doing most of the work for me.

No. I don't believe in driving EV's. My brother drives one for short distance commuting and absolutely loves it. It's also the fastest car I have ever ridden in. I don't have a problem with the Tesla brand or anything. I hope you find a good deal on one.

I have one, voted for trump, and will give you very unbiased opinions. Ask away.

First thoughts: my Y is a blast to drive. Its acceleration is nuts and handles very well. It's a great commuter car and the self driving is very convenient at times but I hate using it around town.

All that said, I hate taking it out of town becuase I have to plan around chargers and it wastes time like hell. The gas savings is not worth the time I spend fricking around with chargers, at all. My time is money so I rarely get outside a 45 mile radius.

I find myself driving my other car on weekends and always on road trips, even though the tesla is free.

I test drove a Model S. My wife, the lead foot, loved it. It weirded me out. It felt like I was driving a souped up Oreck XL. I didn't want to be one of those people, plus the range was a major turn-off.

I dont like the added drama but WTF. It’s an American made car. It’s fun to drive and fast. If you have a place to charge it Id say go for it.

I might buy one for my wife. We both do long cross country trips (me to Colorado and her to see family in NM) but I'll just let her use my car for that.

One of my neighbors has one. I am new here so don't know them well or see them often, but I am going to try and catch up with him this weekend to get a better idea of the charging, how he likes it, etc. I see Tesla has some pretty good promotions going on now too.

Just test-drive one. We have two vehicles - a regular SUV and a Tesla Model Y. The Y is the best vehicle I have ever owned. The most significant issue people bring up is charging times. Long road trips are doable with the Tesla charging network, but it will add time to your trip (the longer the trip, the longer the time added). You also charge from home and never go to a public charger.

My car charges at home while I sleep, and I never have to go to a gas station or change the oil. It has been highly reliable with no issues.
