Any of you Texas people have the pulse on how John Cornyn is really doing against Paxton?

Indiana and now Louisiana blow the automatic historical incumbent numbers out of water.
Will it carry over into Texas?

It’s a weird one because most people won’t vocalize in public that they want to vote for a piece of shite like Paxton but obviously a lot of people will once they get to the booths.

What makes Paxton a POS?

His personal life is really complicated.
But that Coryn Spanish amnesty video is making me lean towards voting PaxtonZ

Cheats on his wife, pretty openly on the take, etc.

Is that even unexpected of politicians anymore?

The fricking around on his wife thing is pretty on point but the openly pay to play thing should bother people. And it does. I don’t hear anyone who’s openly and proudly supporting Paxton. Even the ones who will admit it in public downplay it as a vote against Cornyn rather than support of Paxton.

So him cheating on his wife trumps everything for you when making a decision on who would best serve your interest in DC? That takes precedent over someone actively pushing for the save act vs someone who isn't?
Can you elaborate on etc. as well??
Or is this all you got??

So does his personal life in regards to his wife change his views on important policy issues?

I mean...I'm not going to vote for Telarico over him because of this...but the fact we're even having to ask these questions about folks who are supposed to lead our country is quite telling.
All in all...we as voters flat out suck.

Paxton being a POS is common knowledge across the state. Infidelity is the least of the concerns regarding Paxton.
There’s a laundry list of corruption charges and other examples of poor leadership.
In 2015, Paxton was indicted on two counts of first-degree felony securities fraud and a lesser charge of failing to register with state securities regulators. He was accused of duping investors in a tech startup called Servergy without disclosing he was being paid by the firm.
In May 2023, the Texas House of Representatives impeached Paxton on 20 articles of impeachment. The charges were later narrowed to 16 articles focusing on bribery, unfitness for office, obstruction of justice, conspiracy, and abuse of public trust, largely stemming from his relationship with a campaign donor.
Following the impeachment, the FBI conducted a prolonged investigation into Paxton's actions regarding the same donor. However, the Justice Department ultimately declined to prosecute.
He’s managed to stay out of jail, but he’s as slimy as they get. I’m talking about not serving in the best interests of ordinary Texans.
That being said… MAGA will probably get Paxton over the top to defeat Cornyn.

this, exactly. paxton is a false christian, bribe taking, wife cheating, royal piece of shite. and, he'll do the same thing if elected to the senate. the guy took bribes to issue legal opinions as texas ag to protect Nate Paul, and used a burner phone to communicate with his latest side piece, while crying in church on sunday's and arguing the ten commandments be posted in schools.. his wife divorced him. not often a republican is impeached by the texas senate.
if Cornyn, easy win. If Paxton, Talarico has a decent chance.

Also, why aren't party leaders kicking out people inside the party working against Trump's agenda, at least when they want to run and it's well known that the person is an agitator and bears morality issues?

the uniparty hates him

You can indict a ham sandwich, the Bush’s were after Paxton and used lawfare (indictments & impeachment) to try and get him to go away. I am no fan of the Bush’s or their cronies as they are no better than the D’s.

seems like Paxton is will win the primary

I just voted against Cornyn an hour ago
Posted on 5/18/26 at 11:37 am to loogaroo
I haven’t talked to a single person that’s voting for Cornyn. I don’t really talk politics with everyone I meet but no one in my circle is voting for that rat bastard.

So for a Republican to get impeached by the Texas House is very telling.
