Um, because he is? He's a billionaire for fricks sake.

I read some quote that Trump is a poor person's idea of what a rich person is.

how many billion does it take for a wealthy person to consider someone rich? You are a moron. Trump probably pays more in taxes each year than you will earn in your life.

And he might pay nothing each year!!!

Saying that this board reinforces the idea that many people have a distorted view of Donald Trump's business history is generalizing and bigoted?

quote:

Um, because he is? He's a billionaire for fricks sake.

He's a possible billionaire who was given hundreds of millions by his father. And he's so successful that American banks stopped lending to him. It's one of the reasons why he's deeply indebted to foreign banks.

Oh, you must be so intelligent and enlightened because you are a liberal.

I'm actually a moderate that thinks it's hilarious how people think Trump is a respected businessman. He made some big splashes in the 80s, lost a lot of money, went to Germany, Russia, and China to get money to stay afloat, and ended up a reality TV star. Trump is a joke in NY real estate circles.

really? who is our current President?
quote:

i will be so glad when this catastrophically stupid conclusion can be retired.

Mr. Katanga, I know it is the Christmas season and all, but frick you and your catastrophically stupid fricking opinion! Obviously, by all reasonable evidence, a black politician would not (and I daresay, almost could not) have been elected POTUS in the 1960s.

And the voters of United States of America DID elect a black POTUS four decades later.

Therefore, BY DEFINITION, the country is less racist. There can be no other conclusion, unless one is, like you and A. Bourdain, catastrophically stupid.

Can we improve? Yes. Does racism exist? Of course. We could even debate if the country is "only slightly less racist than in the 60s". But to marginalize the above facts is catastrophically fricking asinine of you.

I hope you get coal in your stocking. Black coal. Dipshit!

Liked Bourdain's shows...but I bailed a while back for principle's sake. He'll take a hit for this bs, and likely hit the bottle hard, and fizzle out.

That should also be followed by a pragmatic follow-up question: What percent of the general population do these people represent? Keep it in perspective. Little people - big microphones.

If race relations are currently bad, why is that Trump's fault? Haven't we had the Liberal Messiah serving as President for the past 8 years?

I've always liked Bourdain and though his first book was fantastic, but he's getting harder to defend with some of his recent BS. Wish he could stick to what made him popular...having drunken adventures and enjoying local food culture! Disappointed is how i feel, but still like the guy. So, he's misguided!

Yep. He's career arc was already on the down slope. He just added skis and gave himself a push. Bye Tony.

Yes it is. There are people on "this board" who actually might agree with you. Painting this board with a broad brush is generalizing. You are no better than or intellectually superior than anyone on this board.

quote:

possible billionaire

What? You're not even making any sense.

quote:

I'm actually a moderate

I've seen this stated by many of the resident dolts on "this board."

quote:

Trump is a joke in NY real estate circles.

Now you are just making up shite.

I agree, but...

Shall we take a poll of all the board morons that won't shop at particular places or watch certain movies or tv shows for political reasons?
