If we were to use logic (I know more fascism) on these people, being fit, being more personally responsible means less strain on the 'social healthcare system', which would enable more resources to be directed to those who need it most.
Being fit is, in fact, the better choice for society.

All she’s saying is a human being’s goal should not be to become less disposable to the ruling order. She uses fitness as an example, but there are many (probably better ones).
