Annie is discussing her new book about nuclear war. Worth the time. Unbelievable how many "holes" are in our nuclear war strategy. She discusses close calls and many details that are mind boggling. Frightening . fricking insane that we are poking Russia rather than negotiating peace.
I had to check back in... I like Lex, but usually can't watch an entire episode. Man, this episode is really good. So interesting. I highly recommend.

Anybody that thinks these people are smart has not been paying attention. And TBH there isn't a full proof strategy. Once they start launching the world is fricked.

I'm about an hour in and it's terribly stressful. 
It starts out bad, with the ICBMs. Then, she gets into the subs and the fact that other countries have these things on trucks. She says the "football" has some type of Denny's menu the president has to choose from what to launch on a counterattack.
ETA, OH MY GOD, a VHS training tape of a nuclear war scenario almost triggered armageddon.

The command and control is really old and has needed a tech refresh for decades.
If you want a great list of close calls highly recommend nuclear command control. Great book. Reviews the Arkansas disaster really well.

It's commonly referred-to as "mutually assured destruction" and, there are no winners.

She's a good author. I read her books on Darpa and Operation Paperclip.

It was Mother Theresa of Calcutta who said,"War is punishment for sin". Unfortunately America has descended into the realm of the decadent. I really am concerned for the survival of this country.
True, not all Americans are morally bankrupt, but when people look at a cross section of the American culture they tend to paint everyone with the same brush.
Case in point - if you approach this from a Biblical angle, when God told Abraham he intended to destroy Sodom & Gomorrah, Abraham immediately went into panic mode as he attempted to negotiate for the life of Lot and his family. In the end only four citizens of Sodom and Gomorrah were spared - Lot, his wife, and his two daughters. God told Lot to get out and get out NOW. Sadly Lot couldn't convince his son-in-laws to leave. And to sadden Lot's plight even more he lost his wife when she disobeyed God and turned back to look at the fire and brimstone descending on the city - whereupon God turned her into a Pillar of Salt.
By way of that there is extensive archeological work being done in the area where it is believed Sodom & Gomorrah existed. They've made some amazing discoveries which confirms the existence of the cities and that some kind of cataclysmic event destroyed the cities.I keep waiting for news of the discovery of the remains of Lot's wife preserved in a pillar of salt. But I digress.
Bottom line, when and if nuclear war breaks out, and if God chooses NOT to lift us out of this country (somehow) before the nukes strike, we WILL all die together. Nuclear bombs do not differentiate between Christian or Heathen, Democrat or Republican. We (at least the lucky ones) will all evaporate together.
Yep, Hell is the absence of God. Now remember this - our pal Joe Biden and his demoniacs are slowly turning America into another Sodom & Gomorrah. I am appalled at the decadence of these people. Reflect on that for a while - and where do you and me fit in all this?

Trying to buy food, shelter, and other essentials is stressful enough right now. True or not, I'm gonna keep believing that nobody is crazy enough to start shooting off thermonuclear weapons. We will instead continue the slow, painful degradation of western society
