You don't like the conditions, don't do the crime! Real Simple!

I think we all know that even if they may have been innocent for the crown with which they were convicted, they probably did some other crimes and deserve to be in there either way.

So you believe everyone belongs in Angola? Including yourself?

Maybe all those innocent people you think get convicted and sent to prison get out and feel like they should do something actually worth going to prison for?

What?

OR, even worse, maybe they are being wrongfully convicted so often cuz dis country is so RAYCISS that they just keep being sent back to prison even tho they innocent?

Huh?

Weird that he was even brought into this thread then. There’s no comparison.

Is Judge Brian Jackson black or white? That may give you the answer they get!

More than nearly every other state, Louisiana has a dismal track record of wrongful incarceration. Its criminal justice system exonerates more people on a per capita basis — 1.93 for every 100,000 citizens — than anywhere else but Illinois (2.34), according to the National Registry of Exonerations.

Why can't this mean Louisiana ranks second in exonerated the wrongfully convicted?

Imagine being in other states that don't catch it as often.

It would be more interesting if it compared the same population’s mortality rate inside prison vs outside prison.

I stand by captivity being in the best interest of Angola’s population.

Fair enough but let’s not paint it as some sort of exotic vacation.

How many wrongful convictions a year do you support?

In a perfect world it would be zero. We don’t live in utopia so we have to deal with the system we have in place.
Many more people get off with a reduced charge or go free because of legal technicalities. It’s not even close to wrongful convictions. Neither sit well with me.

Getting back to the farm lines. Everyone goes to the field unless you’re too sick, old or dangerous. You can get out of the field with 120 days if you act right and obey the rules. They hold job boards every 30 days to fill all sorts of jobs like kitchen, orderly jobs, etc.

You have to keep inmates busy doing something. Idle minds in these guys = bad things to come.

Absolute insanity that four people here think it's just fine to execute an innocent person.

I’ve met many people in my career who prefer that lifestyle.

One even threatened to murder me to make it happen. Half the wishes were granted.

In full disclosure, I was a parole officer.
