Imagine thinking the tranny crowd is more significant to the sales bottom line than plant workers.

My husband was at an event & heard a guy talking about going to get a beer…and he said “But NOT Bud Light!” & everybody around that heard him started laughing….this thing is gonna stick, no more Bud Light.

BL has never been my beer of choice (I prefer Coors if I’m drinking one of the “big 3”), but I went to a neighborhood picnic today with a crowd of about 300-400 people. There were multiple ice chest with different brands of beer. Out of curiosity, I opened the BL chest…completely full. The caterers were constantly refilling the others…except for BL.
This is different from the NFL customer “protest” because there is no alternative brand of pro football. There are dozens of alternatives to BL. Now, the reality is many are owned by the same company that owns/produces BL, but I think this boycott could have some legs for a while. It’s too easy to not drink BL

Im certain its the bar owners as well. At this point if you have bud light on tap you might as well put a neon rainbow in the window and have your male bartenders wear skirts, because thats the only clientele you are supporting by having it on tap.
A beer is your badge. Think about your younger days when you and the boys drank a 12 pack of the beast, because it was cheap, before going to the bar...and drinking a bud or miller.

AB stigmatized their own product in a hyper competitive market with countless viable alternatives

AB won’t go bankrupt but the Bud Light name is ruined forever. Look at BBB after canceling My Pillow

So you all missed the point. It was the crass immature comments to someone who just wanted a beer. Im all for you not drinking BL but the circumstances in the OP were very cringeworthy.

Summer drinking time is just arriving. It's going to get worse for AB.
People I never even thought would care are talking about it.
Places like the Memphis Redbirds stadium, who are a Cardinal's affiliated team and sponsored by AB, are not even selling BL.

Even though here on the PT the posters only drink the finest of craft beers, the majority of Americans still drink the mass produced brands when they choose to drink. That's why BL has dominated the market as America's best selling beer. But there is nothing incredibly unique about BL compared to other mass produced domestic lager beers like Coors, Miller, etc. Thus, it is really not that difficult to switch brands.
Rednecks and frat guys have made BL the best selling beer for decades. But then you hired a marketing person who not only has little appreciation for those customers, but actually thinks they are "beneath" her and her product and this is the result.

Especially after I just had a Samuel Adams' Porch Rocker over the weekend. Wish they weren't in limited supply.

I stop in a gas station every mornin' for my caffeine jolt, and I noticed the giant stack of Bud Light from Friday hadn't changed over the weekend.
I asked the clerk about it, and she said that the only reason it was on the floor is they had no room for it in the cooler.
I am seeing this played out at Walmart, Publix, Kroger, QuikTrip, Circle K and anywhere I'm at and remember to take a peek.
I would LOVE to see the real numbers. I'd love to see the lift that Yuengling has received, I wish they'd release a statistic.

This is just retail. And covers 8-15 Apr when it was still being learned by buyers. Would love to see Yuengling numbers too. Article is behind paywall.

It has just completely blown over. Everything is back to normal.
Actually; sales numbers keep getting worse every reporting period. Their stock has been downgraded. They have parted ways with the employees AND the marketing firm responsible. It has totally blown over. I didn’t even take pictures of the beer aisle, and the Anheuser-Busch towers, at my local Walmart today. But I couldn’t buy a case of Coors Light or a half case of Yeungling Flights. Because they were sold out. But literally pallets of AB products were there in exchange for customers’ money. And they were discounted. And still there they were; no one was buying them. I can count on one finger how many people I have seen buy AB since your “it is blowing over comment”. And that was a 30 pack of Natty. It seems people don’t want to buy Bud Light anymore.
I bought two 12 packs of Coors Light. There was one left after me. That was it for Coors Light. There were no 24 pack cases, no 18 packs, no 6 packs. It has blown over alright. Because Coors Light was sold out AGAIN, and Flights were sold out, and the same AB brands were still stacked on pallets going bad after three weeks… checks notes. No, can’t be true. NawlinsTiger said it has blown over.
I am a transphobe I realize. I recognize I am just looking at the sales numbers. And I am not considering what they identify as. Maybe they identify as 25 % up? Who am I to judge?
I do feel bad for the baws and gals that will get fired because of shite completely out of their control. The ones that merchandise; the ones that drive the beer trucks; the ones that work at the distributors. When they lose their jobs I am sure they are going to flock to the transgender cause. How could they not? Their former employer was so brave, they will be too.
But you nailed it. It has completely blown over.
