Angel Studios is in for a bad few weeks. This was a massive unforced error that's not going away any time soon.
Even worse, they paid conservative 'influencers' big $ to say favorable thing about the movie. One small problem, they paid them to lie.
Freaking Riley Gaines, who isn't any sort of movie reviewer or critic, gets COMMUNITY NOTED on her form letter of a endorsement.

The fraud, Tucker Carlson is pimping this commie pos as well, calling it a family friendly movie.

Surprised Angel Studios went along with this

Community Notes was a great addition by Elon and Co. and has been a game changer as far as dispelling fake news, but I feel like a law that requires "paid for" advertising on social media to be disclosed would go a long way too.
There's YouTubers with 100k views getting paid these days to promote this or that product or opinion, AI channels and videos paid to create and sway opinions and views, podcasters paid to promote certain views and products, it goes on and on. I feel like it should be a right in this country to know when you're being advertised and pandered to

They’re now attacking the fans. They’ve sold out

So ... it'll be a Snow White level flop at the box office.
I'm good with gollum losing a bunch of money on this bull$h!t.

On the positive side, Tim Pool was ripping both the movie and Angel studios on his podcast…

In addition to these two, I saw The Redheaded Libertarian even deleted a post praising this film.
It's ironically kind of Orwellian that Angel apparently paid off conservative influencers to promote this bastardization.

Angel is now a public company. They’re not the same studio anymore.

Which is a shame. My family and I saw David over the holidays and thought it was excellent.
The Critical Drinker had a guest this week who suggested a theory that Angel only got involved with Animal Farm to show that they can get films with big names.
Don't know how true that is, but considering Animal Farm's cast, there could be some validity to it.

That’s a completely reasonable assumption but their video going after the fans, (referring to them as the Pigs from AF), is pretty obvious they’ve done a 180. There was also a joke with the main pig farting then saying “that’s the sound of freedom”. Looks more like a Hollywood humiliation ritual than a mistake to me.

I saw that, which is insane. Definitely intentional in my opinion, especially since The Sound Of Freedom was legitimately a hit film for Angel.
I posted earlier in this thread that Angel may have just not been paying enough attention to what Serkis was doing. I still hope that's the case, but it's hard to give them benefit of the doubt at this point.

I thought the same at first and then that video came out plus the intentionally misleading ads for the movie. It’s also hard to believe that nobody at Angel screened the movie of knew the script. Just talking to Serkis it would hard to imagine they didn’t know what this movie was.

Yes, exactly, this is the main thing I can't reconcile.
Serkis has been documented talking about trying to get this film made for over a decade. He didn't just recently decide to alter Orwell's story on a whim. His own interpretation was clearly planned.
Serkis boasts that Orwell would have "wanted the controversy" and that he created what Orwell would've written about today. Like my dad said earlier, "I didn't realize Andy Serkis was best buds with George Orwell'."

He changed the story for political purposes. Practically admitted this is propaganda.

In 7th grade, I did a book report on “Animal Farm”, and even as a 12-year-old, I got the intended message.
Angel Studios being attached to this adaptation is a surprise to me. This is the same studio behind “The Chosen”. Seeing their name connected to something that feels so ideologically skewed is baffling. It doesn’t feel like a natural fit, and it raises questions about what direction they’re trying to go in.

It's pretty chilling what's going on in our media and entertainment industries
I’d say it’s more evil than chilling. They used to try to hide it but as the left is more and more open with their Marxist beliefs and the population continues being dumbed down they are putting everything out on display. From hubris or their own bubble of ignorance or both.

So... free admission to the movie, right Andy?
