I actually have some sound reasons why.

Unless you want to look like an obvious alter, or more recently a federal agent, joining and immediately starting a ton of threads before anyone has any idea who you are and what you generally think about things makes you stick out in the wrong ways.

In addition, many people have been around here for a LONG time, so there's a shorthand that's spoken as well as posters who have known stances on things. In my opinion, it seems better to sort of establish those things and get a feel for this place before starting a bunch of threads. Hell, I've now been here for nearly 15 years (oh shite, that's a long time) and have probably started less than 150 threads, with most of those being over on The Rant talking about LSU Football.

In hindsight, maybe it should have been 500. I think this is a good analogy for being here.

That's so true. I started on the secrant...then kept hearing about the OT crazies so went there...and then they would comment about the poliboard crazies....took me a bit cause I thought it was super lefties crazy....but then dipped my toe and haven't left...well other than getting accused of being an alter and banned for a while. Ha.
