Probably has nothing to do with the record numbers of guns purchased by Americans these past few years.
That is probably true. Why go to the trouble of jacking someone up for money when all you need to do is go to the store and walk out with whatever you want, plus you get warranty coverage too.

The data shows as gun sales increased, the murder rate spiked. Therefore your point of more guns, less murder is contradicted by the data.

It's like inflation. It's not falling, but it's not rising as fast as it was.

That's disappointing. African Americans are killing each other less and now they can't abort their babies? This country is fricked

Likely not.
I agree.
But record gun ownership didn't stop it from continuing to drop, did it?

Some of you are literally too stupid to keep posting. Now for some relevant news:
LINK
NOw look and tell me correlation vs causation
Top 5
5. Baltimore, Maryland
4. Dallas, Texas
3. Phoenix, Arizona
2. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
#1 ... with a bullet
1. Chicago, Illinois
This article had Chicago with 166 homicides. Another article had 697 in 2022
Does anyone believe only 166 this year with 10 a weekend or so being reported ... hmmm

If certain cities are any indication, they are certainly fudging those numbers.
BRPD was refusing to get out of the car to investigate shots fired at one point while EBRSO was able to find the person hit by the bullet having fled across the parish.

You can’t use gun sales to correlate to increases or decreases, or I should say you cannot causally link.

It had to come down. It was so high that 2021-2022 was a record for many cities.
St. Louis city had 366 homicides in 2022. 386 in 2021. The 262 in 2020 was the highest in 60 years.
So, in 2023, it’s back to just the highest rates in 60 years - 310 through today.
But IT’s FALLEN 16% year over year!!!!! Let’s CELEBRATE!!

Think about how stupid you would have to be to try to make the point that up is making and even bring up Japan at all. They basically have no guns in comparison to us

The stats from a few years ago are likely skewed as they were calling murders "death by Covid">...

Probably more likely because Dems are going with a different election strategy and backtrackih on their defund the police rhetoric.

I’d rather we see a drop in crime because we’ve become better people and society. Something like Japan where tradition and respect still play a role. Not because a criminal is worried they might get shot while committing a crime as you’re suggesting. That just means that people are still a-holes and don’t value your humanity.

Sort of like the special kind of stupid it takes to ignore the fact that 6, 7, 8 dollar per gallon gas exists when presented hard evidence I would imagine.
