Honestly it wouldn’t hurt if we shifted to more of a plant based diet, and not even for environmental reasons. Beef (any red meat) routinely causes hypertension and inflammation, which leads to other health issues.

Whole prime rib only $4.97 a pound. Only have to purchase $25 dollars of other groceries.

May be a good idea, not like we don’t have water here so no shortage of grass

This, our farm is in Robert, LA and the grass grows quicker than the herd can eat currently. Although partly due to reducing our herd size the last few years but still have ~30 head for 120 acres

No. Red meat IS all that great. It's essentially health food.

No. They all go to auction. I just sold off everything. Taking the winter off and starting over by next April. Our cows were old and needed replacing and with our barndominium build, we are redoing fences around the house. I’ll probably get better quality cows and bull than I had previously.

This is complete bullshite. Beef, especially grass-fed, is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which are very much anti-inflammatory. Causing hypertension? Also bullshite, almost no foods, in and of themselves, cause hypertension. I know vegans on blood pressure medications, they have perfectly normal labs, they just have high BP which can be caused by a number of factors well beyond diet. Everything you post is just ignorant tripe.

This is false. You can root rake it, drag and over seed

I do agree red meat is not all that great. But frick a plant based diet.

I usually eat 5-7 pounds of chicken or turkey a week.

Occasionally will add in lean ground beef once or twice a week

I've had 6 ribeyes so far this week and haven't had dinner yet today. I run 20 miles a week, lift 6 days a week, and have the testosterone count of a 21 year old. I wake up rock hard every morning.

frick a plant based diet.

Uhh? Why can’t we just breed more since we already have cows here.

Kinda hard, financially, when calves are bringing in nearly double the amount they were 5 years ago all when (as others mentioned) inputs are higher than ever. Feed, diesel, tractor, tractor parts, all are high.

I do the same. It’s a bitch to stroke a a check for a half. I then walk grocery store aisles and see how much better off I am. Steaks and even roasts are way cheaper. I also know the cow lived ten miles away and my buddy raised it.
