This has been on the BBC off and on since it happened, a few notes.
Ever met anyone from the US state dept, or their families, living outside the US??? They truly think they are living in a version of the ole british crown, everyone locally is a subservient scrub, including US citizens. They just move across the world from assignment to assignment, living on the govt dime, in beautiful homes, or great subsidies, doling out tax dollars to this "charity" and "that".
As far as the husband being a spy.....its one of the largest listening posts in the world EVERYONE who works there is "technically" a spy. There was no mention of her ever being a spy until this came up, I suspect she delivered brownies for the company picnic so they designated her "a former spy" and declared immunity.
For years they have been trying to get her arse back to have the trial and the US was of little help. She did it, she immediately fled to the US, and her husband pulled all the strings possible to stop justice.
And no immunity should not apply to all the people it currently does, certainly not family members. Just ask someone who knows how that privilege is abused by every fricking african country "diplomat king, queen, and prince" in NYC in regards to the UN.
And giving immunity is supposed to be to protect someone from being arrested if you put out a state dept position condemning china for their treatment of Uyghurs, not to protect a house mom from mowing down an innocent child.
If you ever get in trouble abroad dont expect any help from the US state dept, there is a club.....and you aint in it.

Hank is such a dumb frick. What's worse is he thinks he's brilliant. He gets kicked in the balls in most of the threads he posts in, and then just continues on like nothing happened. It's great comedy.
