Moultrie flag. Originally flown by anti-royalist South Carolinians in the Revolutionary War and then by South Carolina secessionists in their fight against Yankee tyrants.

To each his own i guess.

I see the flag as a symbol of the of both what the US was founded on and the it's potential, and it is un-phased by current leadership.

and those that want to re-create the US hate the flag, so flying it is a symbol again those who hate it.

The problem is not the flag, or those that are in power. the problem is this country has strayed from its founding principles.... "One nation under God"..... without God this nation will not prosper

When Puerto Rico becomes the 51st state and D.C. becomes the 52nd state there will be an interesting problem with aligning 52 stars.
4 rows of 13 comes to mind. But what if only one new state makes it and ya got 51?

I’m with you. I will no longer display or fly a flag that represents a communist country, and contains stars representing communist states of which I have utter hatred.

NONE!

FLY the FLAG!

quote:

On one hand, the flag to me represents everything great about what this country was, and the foundational principles the country was founded on. So I am wondering about other options where I can still show my pride in what the country was and for freedom, but really don't want to fly the same flag associated with this government right now.

The Flag isn't the problem...its the swamp in Washington, and those politicians don't represent the Flag and which it represents!

Fly the Flag and Flip off the politicians! Not flying the flag gives a Victory to those who hate this country and want to fundamentally change the it.

I proudly fly mine everyday.

I get that and wholly respect it.

I ceased flying the US flag long before now.
It’s not a reaction to the current presidential administration.
I believe in what the flag once represented; and for me, it has ceased embodying those ideals.

My family is filled with veterans—I support them without measure.
My gratitude towards all soldiers and veterans is not tied to my choice to refrain from flying the US flag.
But this country is no longer one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Sons of Liberty Flag
quote:

The Sons of Liberty Flag was originally flown in Boston by the Sons of Liberty, a loose knit association of colonists resisting British efforts to take away their liberties. The flag had 9 vertical red and white stripes. The flag became known as the "Rebellious Stripes" and was eventually outlawed by the British. The colonists reversed the stripes to horizontal and kept using it in protests against tyrannical attempts to tax them against their will. Eventually the stripes grew to 13, representing unified resistance from all 13 British colonies.

This is a growing problem in America. Patriots and Patriotism is dying bc Americans are not holding its elected officials accountable to the Ideals of what the Flag represents...By not holding them accountable and ceasing to Fly the Flag with pride is giving those who want to fundamentally change America a victory.

For this very reason, I’ve been flying colonial era flags.

Also a great conversation starter with neighbors.

I'm asking you this as a veteran. Don't take that flag down. It means so much to me and Lew and every other veteran that has served. If you take it down they've won. They want you to take it down. It represents everything they hate. Fly 2.
