So this is a hearing..

What happens if Trump goes in there and gives a speech about how he is being railroaded and lists facts?

Can they gag him?

Can they hold him in contempt?

This is a hearing and it seems there are different rules..

So what happens if Trump doesn't play by their rules?

Funny thing about this is…the more attention they give Trump, the stronger he gets and his base grows bigger.

Besides a lot of bitching, moaning and political grandstanding, nothing.

Absolutely. They drunk with contempt and hate for that man. They are going down in flames and want to make life miserable for whoever stood up to them.

I think Trump feeds off their hate. It’s the strangest thing to see. You have to admire that man.

Dersh said weeks ago when Judge Cheney announced this that Trump would be a fool to appear.

It appears to be a lengthy politically partisan complaint. The letter sites those that plead the fifth and they order Trump to speak on questions regarding them.

It is a trap. If he refuses they charge him, perp walk him in orange down a hallway of reporters like Bannon. EVEN THOUGH Dersh said they have no authority.

If he appears even a non-lawyer can see it is a perjury trap testifying about cabinet members that plead the fifth.

unlike Bannon (arguably), Trump 100% has executive privilege.

Does the fact he is a former president and political opponent give him immunity from investigation and possible prosecution by subsequent administrations?

Absolutely not, but it certainly earns a little more discretion. Erring on the side of caution seems prudent and not at all what is happening.

Right, but when did you stop beating your wife?

Some questions have faulty premises built into them.

I'm at least surprised they addressed the letter to President Donald J. Trump and not "Mr" or whatever else they'd like to do.

A calculated ploy for effect.
They address DJT as Mr. Trump to insult, demean and disparage when they want to.

To bring a more dire sense of consequence, they refer him as President Trump for a subpoena to the J6 sham.
"We had to subpoena the President to force his testimony on his insurrection.".

Much like the premise that Jan 6 was an insurrection.

The only thing good that would ever come from this is precedent.

Now that its set, lets see how future democrat politicians like being called to the stand.

No you don't. You support this Color Revolution that's happening because you agree with the outcome.

In front of this show trial, not 1 person has any rights.
