Trump is not a politician. Deep State people have given Trump some bad advice. He is learning who he can trust, and who needs to be fired. Give the man some time. He is doing great considering he is NOT a politician.
He needs to trust his gut instinct. Most politicians have no guts or backbone.

Trump does, and he does not "owe" anybody. This is why he has a higher turnover. A typical politician gives his cronies a job because the crony helped get them elected. Trump does not play like that. He does want the best around him.
He needs more time, and he is learning as he goes.
Soon he will realize that Paul Ryan is part of the Deep State, and is not his friend. Paul Ryan sold out America on this spending bill. PR is better than a democrat, but not much better.

Trump is, quite obviously, more in the Obama mold than he is in the Reagan mold when it comes to this.
Reagan signed massive spending bills like this. Federal spending rose during his years in office. He got his lunch money stolen on immigration reform.

Reagan wheeled and dealed for legislation up and down his terms as President. Are you seriously going to compare Trump to Reagan in terms of getting shite done, because I would lose a lot of respect for you if you think that.

Trump has shown not a single iota of the political instinct that Reagan had.

Abu, the fact is that asians are not exactly conservative on many issues (except drug laws).

They come from nations where markets have never really been the norm and where private property isn't a respected pillar of society.

Why would trump cause asians to hold left wing economic views? Makes no sense, yet it is clearly the case that asians are much more in favor of state intervention in economy than other groups.

Older asian voters might remember the horrors of communism and thus vote right wing, but younger asians have forgotten.

I think asians voted gop in 90s due to crime issues more than anything else.

For me, it always goes back to the same thing: Our choice was Trump or Hillary.
Short of screwing up The Court (not really possible at this point), there’s nothing he can do to make me regret my vote.

Reagan, like trump, was able to get significant tax reform done, but failed at lowering federal spending or putting a dent in the welfare state.

That, in and of itself, is kind of a racist view to have. And I don't use that word lightly.

The most economically free places on the planet are Hong Kong (at least, used to be) and Singapore.

You are saying one thing - that Asians are voting D because of economics - and the statistical data is saying another - that Asians are voting D because of the inherent racial bias in what a good chunk of the Republican Party (especially Trump) says. Economic policy didn't change magically in twenty years.

It's not economic views. It's that they, correctly, think Trump is a xenophobe and a racist.

American conservatives are losing these people because the primary spokesman for their party is a fricking moron, incompetent, and a terrible leader.

Why is the GOP not pushing welfare reform. I get what you are saying. But we must change the welfare. More strict rules and timed cutoffs are the answer.

Right now the GOP has the power. So what gives. Trump won't lose anybody over this.

They were losing them long before trump, as the data clearly shows. In EVERY election since 1992, asians have grown more democratic. The survey data I listed shows that my huge margins, asians of all backgrounds are in favor of larger govt, higher taxes, minimum wage laws, government intervention in healthcare, stricter gun laws, etc.

It is not racist to point out the survey data of asian-americans.

Perhaps you're right, but you know I am no chicken little. This feels different. I really, truly believe that the Republicans are going to be hurting for a good long while after this. In a way that W could never do. The vaguely racist shite all on its own that Trump spews on occasion is going to really hurt.

What!?!

THIS is how I know not to take you seriously anymore. I'll listen to and consider opposing viewpoints all day; hell I rarely chime in on the discussion on here because I'm usually reading and thinking it over. But this is some straight up unfounded MSM bullshite and if you believe this in real life you have more problems than the Trump administration's bearing on your life.

Give me one example of 'vaguely racist shite' that a leftwing media outfit didn't sell wholesale outrage over; some actual real deal 'vague racism.' I'll wait.

His Charlottesville tweets are a primary example.

I hate the moron SJW's as much as anyone, but there was no equivalence between the two. Equating the two parties in that interaction was fricking moronic and vaguely racist.

charlottesville was bad, I agree, but I hope you aren't one of those people who conflate culture with race.

I don't think it is bad to criticize a certain culture.

Abu speaking the truth.

Trump ignoring his advisors advice by continuing to post on Twitter is exhibit A of how bad of a President he is. He lacks basic self control and discretion... Our leader of the Free world spouts off on Twitter... It's like we are in the twilight zone.

I won't vote for Trump next election. Never voted Dem before, and I may abstain for the Presidential race.

Here is the other thing... All of the great things that Trump has done were led and developed by Congressional Rs - guys like Paul Ryan that everyone here seems to hate... Trump doesn't know diddly about tax policy. His baby -tariffs - is a terrible policy that is threatening a trade war.

Trump is the wizard from the wizard of oz - many here see him playing 3d chess, but the truth is he bluffs his way through life.

Bluffer Trump - full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
