Mixed with the current high costs of new cars with so much technology in it. I think the latter is what has really jumped it as of late, as lawyers have been a part of the high cost for a long time. Especially when illegals driving and in an accident are getting paid off instead of deported.

I have a family member that had their car totalled out in an accident that essentially had the back bumper ripped off. Same car cost $2k-ish to have the windshield replaced from a crack that stemmed from a rock chip. I think a big chunk of that cost came from technician time calibrating the windshield tech.

I think I heard that gas cars are averaging somewhere in the 1500 parts. EVs are averaging 3500-4k.

True, but if we could remove driving privileges for a year or two from the un-insured when they are caught .....

You know it's bad when just about every lawyer hates PI lawyers.

To add...I've heard lots of cars are being stolen and having paper plates thrown on and it's being connected to the high number of illegals that are needing a way around town. Though mostly older cheaper ones, around in apt complexes, so they can hide better.

Medical prices aren't to be ignored either.

Also, I think insurance companies were stupid when it came to forecasting after the covid period. They saw low #s of claims, and stupidly didn't consider it as a one off once people got back to normal.

Everyone hates lawyers. Until they need one.

The OP is an admitted opponent of civil liberties and Constitutional rights. He wants a dictatorship. Now I guess it's off with the lawyers heads if he had his way.

How about lobbying? Does that hit a note? You must be related to one of them or or actually one of them.

My aunt was plowed into by a drunk, uninsured, illegal Hispanic. She had an uninsured motorist policy on her auto insurance. Her insurance didn't want to pay up. She had to get a lawyer. Not only was the insurance company then forced to pay her medical bills and car replacement; she was also award additional damages.

So frick you OP. Not every civil case is someone out for a free lunch. You are either incredibly ignorant or a troll.

I am not a troll. I am really sorry to hear about aunt and I hope she is doing well now. I never said I was against people that actually needed it, and I should have stated that, but I thought you would have known that I was talking about people that defend people that only want's money. There is a difference between neccesidy and what you want. Your aunt is possibly entitled to her case. I don't know? You seem like you do not get the big picture I am actually speaking about.

Question? Do you ever laugh? Sense of humor?
Serious all the time?

I left PI two years ago and now do some limited defense work. The average PI lawyer is a lazy hack who sends a few demands and files bare bones pleadings. I still have respect for the PI attorneys that take on death and catastrophic cases and don’t short change clients.

False

If you look at your auto premium breakdown uninsured/under insured coverage makes up over half of most people's premium

They've really got no recourse. that's the whole point of insurance. The people that abuse the system, and help people abuse the system (i.e.) lawyers are the problem. Just once though, I'd like to see someone go to trial over a personal injury and have the judge say, you may have injured yourself in this home, but you were there illegally. Judgement for the defendant.

Hard if not impossible for a large swath of people to get ahead or live comfortably in this country,

While things are pretty difficult right now, the top 2 things that help people get ahead in this country (and if you have them you really have to stay fricking up to not get ahead) are a work ethic and a good attitude. I've been at the highest of highs and down to the lowest of lows. I put my head down, do my job and am always willing to lend a helping hand and that's why I will always be okay. I could lose everything tomorrow and have to start out at a minimum wage job, and I'll make it right back to where I am no matter what is put in my path.
