And that's a valid excuse? Trump is the same guy who was livid with Kemp and DeSantis for defying Fauci and keeping businesses afloat and schools open in their states. He even called up Kemp and essentially told him that small business owners and their employees could go frick themselves.

lol this is a lie.

Trump was the one saying schools need to reopen.

Both kemp and Desantis shut down their own states and reopened their own states.

quote:

Trump is advocating for schools to safely reopen this fall to ensure our Nation's children receive optimal education and care. By supporting the resumption of in-person schooling, President Trump is standing up for the well-being of American children who need to get back in the classroom and working parents.

quote:

Quote
Our country has got to get back, and it’s got to get back as soon as possible. And I don’t consider our country coming back if the schools are closed.

quote:

Today, President Trump is hosting a national dialogue with State, local, and tribal leaders, educators, and families to discuss the importance of reopening all of America’s schools in a safe way, starting from the premise of what is best for the children of America.

President Trump knows that, for the wellbeing of our children and country, students must begin safely learning again and receiving supportive services from schools.

quote:

Continued school closures could have serious consequences for the holistic health of children and communities, especially those who are most underserved, for generations.

Research has shown that school closures disproportionately affect the most vulnerable students, widening disparities in achievement and harming economic potential.

quote:

"Teachers are essential workers," Trump said. "But every district should be actively making preparations to reopen." As of Thursday, according to Education Week, nine of the 15 largest school districts in the country plan to start the year remote-only.

Trump quoted the American Academy of Pediatrics on the physical, social and emotional risks to children of school closures and also talked about learning loss and food security issues.

Trump pushes state, local leaders to reopen schools in fall

President Donald Trump on Tuesday launched an all-out effort pressing state and local officials to reopen schools this fall, arguing that some are keeping schools closed not because of the risks from the coronavirus pandemic but for political reasons.

“They think it’s going to be good for them politically, so they keep the schools closed,” Trump said at a White House discussion on school plans for the fall. “No way. We’re very much going to put pressure on governors and everybody else to open the schools.”

quote:

“In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and many other countries, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO PROBLEMS,” tweeted Trump on Wednesday morning.

and of course cnn

So after everything was burned down or before shite got real. And after he called in the guard as Trump suggested?

How disingenuous of ABC's headline. The media, folks!

It is, yeah. It was probably reasonable at the time for Trump to say that.

Problem is that the excerpt exists and it will be abused.

You know that ABC must have been pretty disappointed in this "dirt" after who knows how many thousands of manhours were spent digging for something better.

Do you want to deny that there were some deep state saboteurs in his administration? Fine, live in, never never land.

I’d say it’s partly true because Walz handled it so badly it’s ammo for Trump now, lol. They burned down a police precinct, hahaha

He's on tape. Smart people tape conversations with Trump.

Comments are gold:

"Walz is 'an excellent guy' and Trump donated to Kamala"

"Trump will be endorsing Tim Walz."

"Again, when weird Donold opens his mouth it’s just to change feet."

"Wow, even Trump loves Tim. He’s impossible to hate! Good choice, Kamala :)"

"I was very happy with the last couple of days, Tim," Trump continued. "You called up big numbers and the big numbers knocked them out so fast it was like bowling pins."

This was after the rioters burned down city blocks.
quote:

On Friday, Walz told reporters he had spoken with Trump the day before and that Trump had "pledged his support in terms of anything we need in terms of supplies to get to us."

Days later, on the June 1 phone call with governors, Walz thanked Trump and accepted his praise before making comments of his own -- expressing support for peaceful protesters and suggesting that governors who might otherwise hesitate to call in the National Guard could do so delicately, and frame them as "not an occupying force," but instead as "neighbors, teachers, business owners."

So Trump praised him AFTER he finally called in the national guard.

Trump to Walz: "And I don't blame you. I blame the mayor."
