I am making the assumption that you think one is ok and the other would not be- was I mistaken? You would be ok with Eric Trump pretending to be black in order to get preferential treatment? If so I apologize

Zohran also checked Asian. I’m under the impression that Asian were/are discriminated against by Ivy League Admissions. It’s hard to argue that he got preferential treatment.
Equating checking African-American as a native of Africa on a college application with applying for a minority loan as a wealthy white person is a hard sell.
ETA: but a loan has to be repaid so I guess it wouldn’t matter anyway.
